I don't usually like to criticize other designers work, but those are pretty bad. :(

very amature indeed, i hate making people's work look bad too... but that's very unprofessional and wouldn't be too appealing to run of the mill traffic:( :2 cents:

Get a new designer, put yourself in the surfers seat, if you came across one of the sites listed above would you signup? I dont think so and also keep in mind there is about a million adults sites out there.

Well, the colors are horrible. That's the main thing. The colors do not go together, nor are they appealing. The colors in a site need to compliment each other, not just be random colors.

The effects applied are very amateurish. There are too many bevels, too many standard loud gradients. Textures applied to various elements are much too pronounced.

The effects applied to the fonts are especially bad. The choice of fonts shows poor judgement. They are difficult to read and with the effects applied, such as standard gradients and too-thick strokes it makes them even more difficult to read.

Overall, the sites need better choices of fonts, especially for important sales text. Less gradients and more tasteful choices in the gradients that ARE used. More appealing colors that compliment each other. And less standard effects like bevels and drop shadows. Bevels and drop shadows have their place, but they need to be used sparingly and tastefully.

the colors and fonts remind me of something I did 10 years ago when I first learned photoshop

Definately done by a designer just starting out - but that's cool, you have to start somewhere. New designers tend to go straight for the heavy bevel and pre-defined patterns and you can see that in these designs. They also love the thick black strokes around text becuase they find it difficult to make things stand out with haphazard foreground and background color schemes that don't contrast properly. It's just part of the learning curve and everyone goes through it :)

Not god awful but couldnt have spent more than an hour a piece on them.

i never went through it. Granted I did some not-so-awesome stuff when I started (by today's standards), but I have never put out anything that looked like that stuff.

My only point was that everyone has to start somewhere and I have no doubt when you first started drawing your work would have been horrible to begin with as well. That was the only point I was making .. nothing more :)
