Fucked Smarty Got Owned

That sucks. :BangBang:

Overscore 06-05-2004 03:53 PM

If the horse were from anywhere but Philly, he would have won.

unconnected 06-05-2004 03:53 PM

are we talking about the race horse here?

AdultNex 06-05-2004 03:53 PM

So close... That Birdseed horse just came out of nowhere.

Birdstone, not seed. ;-}

He was always the biggest threat, imo. Rock Hard Ten gave SJ the best competition at Preakness, but I knew if he got beat today it would be by Birdstone. :(

On a happy note, if it couldn't be SJ, I'm glad it was Birdstone. Nick Zito deserved to finally have a win.

I have to go puke, now.

Head 06-05-2004 04:14 PM

Ya no kidding! :(

KRL 06-05-2004 04:18 PM

The Whitney family has been in horse racing for a long time and have great horses.

Jedimaster 06-05-2004 04:19 PM

PS,,the 39 year old VET was kind of cute.

Is she a MILF?

stevecore 06-05-2004 04:21 PM

horse races are so much fun... being down by the track the sheer sound of the horses just tells you how much power is whizzing by you when the pass.

Holly 06-05-2004 04:25 PM

:waaaaahh :waaaaahh :waaaaahh :waaaaahh

I'm so sad!!

I really am happy for Nicky Zito, but I wanted Smarty to win so bad.

I wanted Smarty to win also

Head 06-05-2004 04:32 PM

:( my gf is sad smarty lost! She was hoping to see Smarty repeat Secretariat's 1973 monster 31 length win of the Belmont.

KRL 06-05-2004 04:37 PM

Some guy went and bought 6,000 individual $2 To Win tickets on Smarty.

I'm sure he was probably figuring to sell them on e-bay as souveniers.

I honestly thought it was gonna happen, too. :(

He was 11 1/2 at the Preakness, and I was so sure he'd do even better today. Good thing I didn't bet.

My family got some! :1orglaugh They had to open a separate window just for people buying up the tickets.

I heard them say that about the 6,000 ticket guy, before the race. I was actually thinking what a dummy I was for not having the good sense to have everyone I knew who went, buy up a bunch. Thank God I don't have to look at a bunch of Smarty tickets now. :1orglaugh

I'm sure he'll still make at least his money back selling those on eBay. It was actually a clever way to be when you think about it.

If he won he could have cashed some in and sold some for top dollar and with the loss he can recover his $12K by pawning off the tickets now as collectors items.

Monique Niccole 06-05-2004 04:57 PM

I really thought he was going to win there for a second. :(

BigG 06-05-2004 05:47 PM

Yesterday I visited "smarty" and when I was petting his nose, I had some spunges cupped in my hand and I pushed them into his nostrils. This is an old trick to sabotage a horse (before a race) and it worked once again!

Someone was offering 40 million for "smarty" and they said if he had won today they would pay 50 million.

How much do you make from a "stud?"

serious 06-05-2004 05:53 PM

this thread has taught me that:

1. there was a horse race today

2. a horse named smarty lost

3. smarty is worth 40 million dollars

My neighbor sold a yearling for 25k last week since a mare that she breed won a race a month or so ago.

MissEve 06-05-2004 07:15 PM

Mary Lou Whitney who is 70+ is married to a local Anchorage, AK guy John Hendrickson who is 30 something. He used to be a handsome tennis player/playboy who some think is clearly gay. He seems to have lost some hair and gained some weight since they got married. They own a house here and its funny to see pics of them from charity events etc.

Spunky 06-05-2004 07:19 PM

Yep..Smarty just ran out of gas...good race though

I doubt if Smarty got owned. He came in second. Not bad for a no name and the owners can't afford his new insurance premiums if he won. :)

My neighbor pays 2k per mare for breeding and I was told that was cheap for the stallion
