Anyone here ever had tinnitus?

It comes and goes, but DAMN! It's driving me crazy this time, it feels like "snap", "crackle" and "pop" have moved into my right ear. :helpme

i have experienced the ringing on occasion, but it sounds like you may have something else going on.

i began hearing pops and crackles behind my left ear when my wisdom teeth started causing me problems.

though.... http://healthlink.mcw.edu/article/1021057211.html

when's the last time you went to a dentist and had full x-rays done? :)

Thanks! Makes sense.... the only wisdom tooth I have left is impacted and on the right side.

High pitch noises make it worse... not fun.

=^..^= 06-05-2004 10:09 AM

yeah popping and crackign doesnt sound like tinnitus
tinnitus rings.

thank your stars though - once you get tinnitus you usually won't shake it and it gets progressively worse till it drives you mad.
A high percentage of tinitus sufferers in old age kill themselves coz it drives them crazy :helpme

I used to have it from playing the drums, but it actually seems to have gone away as I got older. Not sure why, I didn't think it would.

Ear infections can bring it on temporarily too.

jimmyf 06-05-2004 11:02 AM

had my wisdom teeth taken out when I was young BEFORE they started bothering me, the Doc said they would later on so I told him go get' em big boy.

Snap crackle pop probably isn't tinnitus. A lot of drugs are "ototoxic". NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc), some antibiotics, birth control pills, antidepressants, and more. Some foods will cause it, also. It doesn't always get worse. If it is permanent and progressive, you can get a little hearing aid like device to mask the noise. Talking in general terms, not about you, Jenn.

I think I have a mild form of it...when it's quiet at night I can hear a ringing in my ears..

My old computer had a HD that made a high pitched whiny noise...now I'm obsessed about buying noiseless computer parts
