why is it so sad?

some of us have watched our own family member die slower than this. while i can understand slight sympathy for the dying, he has lived his life and its his time.

there is nothing sad about dying, its just a new life those that experience it dont fear it, nor shall i.

as i said in that thread

Its sad that he cant remember any of it..... he is going to die not knowing what he has achieved

To make to 93 is something to be happy about. Losing a man of his stature is sad for the country, but we've lost him slowly of the last several years. President Clinton's consulted with President Reagan often in the early 90s.

The sad fact of Life... Death.

As unfortunate as some see it, nothing is constant or "always" in this universe, sure we may exist for eternity but perhaps not in the form one would wish.. ashes to ashes.

I see the sad irony in the fact that he probably doesn't remember and that death is the only freedom he has to enjoy.

what are you talking about?

reagan was a puppet.

they shot him to let him know he could be taken out anytime and he should shut hit mouth and he did

i hate people like him, he is nothing. he is part of a system that is destroying this country. the special interest groups and powerful families own him like any president and they cannot die quick enough.

fuck them all.

reagan, bush, all of them are NOTHING compared to our forefathers, they didnt design the system for puppets to bhe put in place.

tony286 06-05-2004 08:35 AM

It's sad but he is 93 .

Reagan aide said that the former President has taken a turn for the worse. They don't think the end is imminent (not tomorrow). Staffers are being told to go about their business, to go on vacation if scheduled, DRUDGE has learned...

After Reagan dies, streets near the house in Belair will be closed. There will be NO annoucement of death from the house. Someone will call the news wires and announce where there will be an on-camera statement... Networks are preparing obits...

That is so sad

SuziQT 06-05-2004 09:56 AM

It is sad for the nation, but I look at it as a good thing for him. I can't imagine the hell of the last few years that he has been going through. I can only hope that there is something better waiting for him...

LadyMischief 06-05-2004 09:58 AM

That really sucks.. And you know I saw a clip of him when he was president the other day. He was SO articulate and quick on his feet. A fantastic public speaker. Compared to that, Bush is like a 6 year old trying to give a speech at a college university.

I don't know if anyone would want to live in that condition. Like Rodney Dangerfield just said, he's not living, he's just wating to see how he's gonna die.

Sarah_Jayne 06-05-2004 11:43 AM

well, I disagreed with his politics and don't think he was as good a president as many think but having lost a grandfather to dementiaI would never wish it on anyone or their family.

TheJimmy 06-05-2004 12:33 PM

the one to feel sad for is Nancy & the family who has had to take care of their dying husband/father for how long now?...

however, I agree this is no more sad than anyone else's plight in this situation....

...this is just obviously more noted/covered because of the position he attained in life...

Michaelious 06-05-2004 12:40 PM

I think the worst thing about all this is that he won't be able to properly say goodbye to his wife
