What are TGP's, their benefits, drawbacks, etc.?
 

I have a few simple adult sites, and I keep seeing references to TGP's. I know it stands for Thumbnail Gallery Posts (or something like that), but I know little about them. What are the benefits? Are there any drawbacks to working with them? What is best method to interface with them? These may seem dumb questions, but I would appreciate any input or referrals to best ones, etc.

Tgp... Thumbnail gallery post. Webmasters, like you may construct a small gallery of pictures 10-16 pictures, submit the gallery to the TGP and if it meets their rules, then it is listed.

You can expect a lot of traffic from the larger tgp's. I would suggest that if you have never done this before, and you are thinking of trying it, to use a free host, to place your galleries.

It can be tough to make money posting galleries until you gain some experience.

Allow about 3 months to get a sponsor that pays is reliable and works for your content. Also in that time, you should be able to find a group of tgps which post your galleries regularly.

OK, from your link, I see where to post it, but how do you create it? Is it basically just a single HTML page with 12-16 thumbnailed images? Should the thumbnails be linked to full-size images? If so, are these full-sized images included in the TGP upload, or are they linked to the site itself. I would assume the page posted should also have links to the main site. Am I on the right track? Advice appreciated.

asa - Visit the main page and look at the galleries listed on there, you will get an idea of what a thumbnail gallery looks like. The most basic gallery usually consists of:

Recip Links
Banner + Text to sponsor
10 to 20 thumbs
Banner + Text to sponsor

Like I said, that's the simplest design. You can be more creative but always follow the rules! And thumbnails should ALWAYS lead to the full size pic. You stand an excellent chance of getting banned if you link it to anything else!

You can use programs such as aries or gallery maker pro to make your galleries, thumbs plus, thumbnailer , there are a lot. If you have frontpage lite on your computer, I believe it will also create thumbnail images for you.

Just experiment a little, you'll get the hang of it, and whether or not you post to tgp's, you will always need to know how to make thumbnail galleries.

Be patient, it might take a few tries to get it right, just post here with your results, you'll get some help

Just go to some TGP and go through galleries posted there to get an idea what TG is.

I just started also. I made this gallery. Submitted it to 3 sites. Put their recips on it and none of them posted it.

well here is a little page I created. it might help you in designing a gallery with TGPs in mind. just abit of warning though it has a talking banner on it. *L* I have been told it annoys some people.

Lush as far as I can see it looks ok. other than it looks like a full ad for a site it isn't too bad. and some sites takes 2 weeks to post. it is a waiting game on some of those TGP

Lush, the gallery looks good. But I'll tell you what sucks. TGPs will post free hosted galleries with big headers and footers but they don't like galleries on paid hosting that have headers and your link at the top looks like a header. I would move the recips to the top and get rid of the links at the top - maybe put an e-mail panel at the bottom too. Some TGPs also don't like the "Main Page" link. If you clean it up a little, I'm sure it would get listed just about everywhere so long as you're not using recycled content.

Lush - I would put the recips on top and change the header to a footer. Also I'd change the "Our Main Page" link to say something like "Sexclamations has more porn for you" or something like that. Many tgps don't like "Next" "Home" and "Main" page links.
