I just saw Troy and Van Helsing on DVD at my friend's house last night

It was a copy of a DVD that was for the Academy Awards.

He got them for $5 bucks each from some chinese guy in the city.

Next week he will have Shrek 2 and The day after tomorrow.

go to usenet and save the money, and you can usually have them the night before they come out

I had the orginal Lord of the ring movie about 6-8 months before it was in the theaters. Stuff like this gets leaked to the net all the time.. Some guys have direct connections with people on the inside or they do cams on the movies in the theaters.

http://www.vcdquality.com/index.php lists all the new releases that these groups put out. You don't have to pay a china man to get the stuff it's pretty easy, but IMO not worth the time unless you really can't wait.

that sites just lists which movies are available, doesn't link to where u might find them which i guess is the P2P networks and IRC networks.

normally newsgroups and IRC .. P2P stuff is too slow IMO. If they listed where the stuff was at the page would be illegal. They just post the stuff that got released so it's concidered news.

Buch of guys I used to work with were into all that stuff that's why I know..But IMO its way too much work for some lazy guy like me :glugglug

The Chinese and the Hatians have the lockdown on the NYC bootlegging operations.

I get the pleasure of watching all the bootlegs that my favorite video store gets.. which is basically every new movie right when it comes out. One of my few guilty pleasures.

No you don't understand,,,it was a copy of the DVD,,,fully interactive menu with the chapters and the printed boxcover.

They supposedly come from copys of the DVDs sent to the academy Awards for review.

its not that hard to get screener copies of new films out here in LA...the studios release them to people in the industry.

though typically they have a text warning that pops up every couple of minutes on the screen...and now that put in codes so they can track those screener copies if they ever to get duplicated.

really now. are the images clear? sometimes you get poor quality DVDs even when the pusher says its ok. if you get that, try to track the guy down and insist a replacement.

I saw both Van Helsing and Troy on the big screen, I think they are big screen movies. :thumbsup
