Humpty Hump * Shock G - To Host The Players Ball San Diego

The original big nose rapper is back. He's performed at 6 Players Ball's, always the hit of the party. He's taking the role of party host for the evening, in character as Humpty Hump.

Shock G is the man behind the hit songs Humpty Dance, Freaks of the Industry, Same Song, I Get Around and many others. His biggest contribution to the rap game is Tupac, he discovered Pac and gave him his shot. Shock's also been in a bunch of movies and movie soundtracks as well.

Shock just recorded a solo album coming out soon, it's really progressive for rap. He's got DJ Q Bert and some Digital Underground members mixed with 2Pacs first rap partner and some brand new talented rappers making their debut. I really think he could make a come back, he even does Humpty on 3 new tunes. Everything comes back in style, even Doug E Fresh is in a McDonalds commercial these days. Anyway, much love to Shock, the Players Ball will always be down with the Underground.

Huge thanks to Epassporte & X2K.net for their contributions for this Ball, and of course our main sponsor SplitInfinity hosting.

Eek-A-Mouse will be our featured performer, taking the stage at 11:00 pm. Doors open at 9:30 pm Thursday night. We have 4 live bands total, all reggae. Did I mention our venue is on the beach? Canes is on the boardwalk in Mission Beach, next to the roller coaster. The theme is reggae, so come how ever you'd like. Beach attire is fine. Be as comfortable and laid back as you want, it's San Diego.

One last reminder about Cybernet Expo. The pre-registration is closed, BUT you can still get registered when you come down to SD. Lot's of people sent me emails thinking it's closed off, jus the pre-registration is closed, walk ups are welcome. Once you get your show badge, we'll have a Players Ball pass stuffed inside. If you need extra tickets, hit me up or one of the sponsors. I'll give our sponsors a few extras to have on them when we get there.

And if you just want to come party with us and don't have a badge for your homies you'd like to bring, we got your back. Send me an email, I'm making a guest list for those in need of extras. If you're registered, don't hit me up, you'll get one when you get there. Tickets will be sold to the public in a limited amount, so hit me up and we'll save you the money. Courtesy of our sponsors. darren at marketingfirm.com is the email.

That's funny, I've been wanting to do that idea for years, but at a booth in a trade show. How can I rent a dunking booth? If someone provides me with a place that rents it, we'll do it for this Players Ball. We'll call it the Player Hater Dunking Booth.

Pay $10 for a chance to dunk controversial webmasters.

Any recommendations of who to dunk? Wait a minute, I could make lot's of money with this....

hmmmmmmmm

Available at many party rental places.

D-Money 06-04-2004 03:39 PM

Shock hung out all night at my place, talked about all kinds of cool stuff. He was saying that Pac wrote Shock's imfamous lyric, "I'm Shock G, the man who put the satin in your panties".

TheGoldenChild 06-04-2004 04:44 PM

Yeah we definitely had a blast night with Shock G/ and Humpty

He kind of goes in and out of character like a mad genius-
I have to say - the man is a musical genius and you have to hear his newest venture- I am trying to secure him a record deal as we speak.

It's like nothing you have ever heard before

Shock G has a new live show, performs with a funk band behind him. We saw them perform last week at Canes, incredible show. I already booked them for January with the band doing Digital Underground songs and new stuff. They'll be the opener for that Ball.

:thumbsup

Humpty Hump is good, probably he is great, but i havent heard many of his tracks. What's for sure is that he's an amazing narrator. I watched an interview he gave about 2pac's life and man I have marked every single word he spoke. Definetely a legend and one of the very few real pac's friends.

Hey Undermyspell,

Just noticed your addy. I grew up in Mira Mesa and my Parent's still live VERY close to Westmore...lol.

I live in Solana now.

TheGoldenChild 06-04-2004 09:03 PM

Shock G was one of Tupac's best friends and he knew him better than Snoop, Dre, or Suge Knight

Shock and Pac grew up together, and the man's art as well as poetry are very impressive.

Nice!!!!

I'm calling for sure, this should be fun.

Now the question is, if I rent this dunk tank, who are we dunking?

On another note. KB and I hung out with 2Pac's real brother last week. That was also a cool experience. They have the same father and last name. Hanging with him felt as close as it could get to hanging with Pac. Very cool guy. Hard to explain the feeling. I invited him to come to the Players Ball, he's really into it and might come.

From a music fan perspective, nothing beats the real life documentary conversations you have with these artists. Being able to ask the questions you want to know most about people like 2Pac or Bob Marley from one of their closest friends. Eek-A-Mouse was good friends with Marley and tells us stories about him as well. I've learned that Marley would have loved our business because he loved sex so much. Didn't know that, though the amount of kids he has proves that theory. I asked Money B what 2Pac sounded like the first time he rapped in front of them. He said it was exactly the way he always rapped, he was a natural, he had the gift.

I have our industry to thank because if it wasn't for the sponsors of the Players Balls and the big support from our peeps, I would never be in the position I am to have these experiences. So just know that it's appreciated, I'm very lucky for that. I'd especially like to thank CEcash and FM for their huge contributions through the years.

So when we go to San Diego, try to hang out with Eek-A-Mouse and Shock G. They're real cool guys that you can learn a ton from. I consider both of them family. And they feel the same way back about both KB and I.

Now, who are we gonna dunk first?
