Topic: $500 bankroll, 30 days of full time poker. How much can I make?

I just cleaned my account out to $500 even. I'm going to go hardcore for 30 days and 30 nights. Any guesstimates on how much I make?

I'll drop back in daily or so with how I'm doing. ;)

Going to start this evening. I'll keep some kind of journal somewhere. I have a lot of crap going on lately so I'm not sure how many hours I can dedicate but I'm gonna shoot for 10 to 20k.

collegeclam 06-04-2004 10:30 AM

my brother turns 50 bucks into 1500.00/2000.00 every time he plays. so, really, you dont even need to play online with 500, just make smart moves and call bluffs, and try to stop yourself from going on bad tilts and youll be good to go ;)

Haha, if I lost this $500 playing the fish online I'd cry. Wouldn't hurt money wise but would bruise my ego. :Graucho

Right now party poker. Would rather play there because of the 4 tables at a time and the wide selection of multi table tourneys.

Rictor 06-04-2004 10:41 AM

You have some fancy cheat method?

Why does he play with only 50 bucks at the time? Play with 2K and bank 80K. Something's not right here! :1orglaugh

he goes to 50 and 100 no limit, cashes out, pays for school (which is 35k a year). hes only 20...doesnt have 2k to risk, and doesnt go on shopping sprees with his cash....just pays tuition.

mastamind 06-07-2004 07:31 PM

I imagine there aren't as many easy wins in the big stakes tables.

B40 06-07-2004 07:56 PM

On which site? Party Poker? I find the more I play on PP, the worse my "luck" gets

undermyspell 06-07-2004 07:59 PM

somehow internet gambling always bottoms out for me... hopefully you'll do much better... best of luck

SeTec 06-07-2004 08:01 PM

They take a rake from each hand ... I think it's between 1 - 5% depending on the total pot.

PartyPoker is making millions and millions of dollars ...

With an average of 30 - 50 k players online at any given time .. a good percent of them playing with real money ....

MILLIONS.

-Phil

jawanda 06-07-2004 08:34 PM

Think about this ...

I'm pulling these number out of my ass, but starting to trip now that I'm thinking about it.

Average time it takes to play a hand ... let's say 1 - 3 minutes depending on number of people at the table, etc..

On PartyPoker, the average difference in 'hand numbers' between one hand and the next is, say, ... 300 ( I think it's actually more).

Let's say that 1/3 of the players on there are playing for real money ...

so that's 100 raked hands every two minutes, with an average rake of ... ohh .. let's say $4. $400 every two minutes.

$400 * 30 = $12,000 per hour.

$12,000 * 24hrs = $288,000.00 per day.

$288,000 * 365 = $105,120,000.00 per year.

Of course, like I said, pulling these numbers out of my ass ... but they are fucking making bank either way.

:helpme

serious 06-07-2004 09:15 PM

I am not sure but you may be overshooting that 1/3, from when I have played at some of these places there are tons of people playing play money and not so many with real money.

I think I played at one of the smaller places though so I don't know about PP.

serious 06-07-2004 09:16 PM

also i think more people play the small limit tables, ie under a dollar than the higher stakes

don't really know though, stocktrader could prob lend a lot more insight.

ehulk81 06-07-2004 09:22 PM

lots if you win, ha ha

A lot of people do play the $.50/$1.00 tables (that's the lowest on PP) but there are also TONS of people playing on the $3/$5 and higher tables, all the way up to the $20 - $100 per hand ...

Plus a good amount of people playing on the lower 7card stud tables, which always generate really high pots..

:2 cents:

strobi 06-09-2004 07:55 AM

any news yet?

Arousal Design 06-09-2004 08:02 AM

Im an avid poker player.

I play stakes usually no lower than $5/$10.. and comfortably play $10/$20.

Maybe I suck, but I've lost $500 in one day, easily. Sometimes I make great calls and still lose to the river. (quick ex: A/K vs. J/10, KQQ Flop, 9, 3 - no limit tourney). My last bad beat was a flopped nut straight, which turned and rivered into someone's A/3 offsuit full house holding.

Good luck to you, hopefully the river treats you well.

slapass 06-09-2004 08:08 AM

Can we assume that how much made is not worth reporting at this point? Or is he highrolling in Vegas because of the big score?
