Have you ever broken a tooth?
 

Yesterday I broke one of my back molars right in half, exposing the nerve.
Fuckin thing hurts something awfull.
No matter what I take to kill the pain.

At least I was lucky to be able to get an appointment to get it removed this afternoon.
That is if they don't have to put me in the hospital to remove it. Its all in pieces. I can feel the pieces with my tongue.

But damn it has been a long nite with no sleep cause of the pain.

If you have never broken a tooth I hope you never do.

Can't say I have ever had the pleasure myself.. but I hear all sorts of gross fucking teeth horror stories from my girlfriend. She's been a dental assistant for like 8 years.

I heard that when u are young and have bad eating habits, then you will have more problems with your teeth when you're older...

broke one of the back ones a few months ago, just got a root canal and cap. Fucking painful for quite some time.

Besides the pain, the worse thing is not being able to eat.
Can't chew anything at all hurts to much.
Can't take anything hot or cold to drink.
It sucks but will be better later today:thumbsup

One time in Mexico Laura knocked my tooth out. I was down there with my wife, YNOT Bob, and a few other friends. I was sitting on a couch with Laura behind me and made a comment about her lack of a certain sexual skill. She hauled off an hit me in the jaw.

We were all totally bombed that night, so I didn't feel a thing. When I woke up the next morning..... Oh shit. She destroyed the tooth.

At least now I can say I got beat up by a girl in Mexico!

I have cracked my tooth in hafl before, it was one painful dentist visit.

i busted one eating a goddamn potato wedge from KFC of all things. i just got the crown put on it yesterday.

Lets see here.... I once blacked out at home and fell on my face, broke one of my front teeth half off. No tooth pain for that one though, the dentist just rebuilt it using that bonding stuff, it's been perfect for about 17 years now.

The closeest I've come to this is... A filling in one of my back molars disintegrated a few years ago leaving a huge hole. Hurt like hell, I'm not sure what broke it. Dentist simply re-filled it and all has been wine and roses ever since.




And pizza is good for your teeth. All that calcium in the cheese you know. 4 out of 5 dentists agree that ordering "double cheese" on your pizza keeps you on the road to good dental health. :winkwink: :thumbsup

i cracked a tooth once...so the dentist just capped it...can't even tell and it neve hurt...didn't even know i did it

yes i have had my tooth break, its painful as hell! glad your getting it taken care of so fast. i had to wait 3 weeks, thought i was gonna die!! feel better soon. :thumbsup

I have an exposed nerve at the moment that I need to get treatment for although it is not painful all the time. I hope you are feeling pain free right about now bro! :thumbsup

I chipped a molar like 5 years ago, no nerve exposed thank goodness. goddamn popcorn chipped it.

I remember when I broke my front teeth, that was so painfull. But now I can bite through anything, thats cool.

its funny you post this, I just got out of surgery for dental implants. I had 2 and 1/2 teeth broken by a friend throwing a tire iron at me by accident. Its been two years now, I had 2 teeth pulled and one capped. Then and still wearing a retainer with 2 teeth on it for 2 years. 8 month ago had graphing done, where they took a piece of my jaw and put it where my old roots of the teeth were. Yesterday they opened it up and drilled implant posts, I'm all vicodined and I saw this thread.

nope:) but I can imagine how painful it may be...

i cracked half my front tooth off, it's like razor sharp without the bonding on it. the bonding breaks off every couple years. it hurts like hell when the dentist needs to roughen up the tooth with a drill, it's right on the nerve. even when they inject shit to numb it, that needle hurts like a mother fucker.

One time I was in a big front yard brawl. This asshat punched me in teh face and broke the tops off of like 4 of my front lower teeth.... It was a great night!

when i was a kid i was chewing gum when two of my teeth went with it. wasnt that painful though, it was baby teeth, but man, the blood was gross.

hell i broke a piece off one eating KFC chicken strips once, ended up having to get it pulled.

Hey last year I got knocked out in an Irish pub...ended up having half front tooth, I don't pretty remember the pain cuz i've been boozed but the dentist's assistant called me an idiot when I asked to get it fixed...

Tip: Aside from the nasty tooth experience, it's always nice to get boozed in Ireland...

My 2 front teeth,years ago..head on on the bumper cars...before they had cushioned steering wheels and seat belts :(

when i was a kid, i used to pulled my teeth alone . . . . coz i was afraid to my mom, coz she's into thread pulling . . . .

she's going to make a loop and put my tooth on it then she would pull it , ouch traumatic . . . . .
