Am really interested to know how many here bought porn on any basis before they worked in the business.

Did you buy it, borrow it, steal it or no interest?

Pictures, videos, drawings anything porn related.

Playboy mag for years before there was even a isp in australia

I used to buy some mags and rented a few porno movies back in the day.

Other than the odd mag or video I didn't

I have an external firewire drive with NOTHING but Lightspeed content.

Playboy is hardly porn, but a good place to start.

The first porn i ever bought was an adultcheck one year subscription... two years later, i moved out to california...my first job was working for adultcheck.

in my interview when they told me what the company was, i was like "I USED TO HAVE A MEMBERSHIP!! SWEET!". i think that sealed the deal in me working there. :1orglaugh

I didn't pay for Internet porn, I started sites so I could get it for free.

I used to rent VHS tapes before the days of DVD. Now we I want some porn, I usually go on Ebay and buy 25 dvds for $50.

I bought a $1.95 3 day porn trial and canceled the same night. I was then rebilled 2 more times at $34.95. I was lazy and never did a chargeback. I forgot what site it was though.

i used to buy mags like swank and the like but haven't since i got online, also used to copy dads porn tapes for myself but now i can download most whatever when/if i want it.

One summer when I was 13 a couple of friends and I stole about 60 porn mags from a local magazine store.

Oh, and I signed up for a $4.95 Playboy Cyber Club membership when it first started, and canceled before the rebill :1orglaugh

Back in the day, I downloaded a crap load from BBSs. All that stuff that was scanned from penhouse, playboy, hustler etc. etc. etc. Funny how people seem to think the internet "invented" all this free porn.

The 1 and only online purchase I made before coming into the biz was for a crap cookie cutter site. Actually. It's still up and running so what do I know. However, it was sort of in the niche I enjoy, but not exacatly what I like. But I had looked at a lot of this persons TGP galleries over time and he always had quality pics, the gallery was plain but nicely done, just a bit of text and 1 small banner. But the pics were hot and the text/banner re-enforced the pics. I plopped down my credit card and bought a membership to a site I didn't actually want. I didn't cancel for several months even though I went back into the site once or twice only.

That purchase taught me what I needed to know about marketing porn online.

i bought tons of porn then quit cold turkey for almost 8 years, didn't look at any mags or movies, then the Internet happened and I started consuming porn again.

hahaha......i remember your name Paul, Mayfair magazine was my favorite skin mag as a teenager and I'm pretty sure you had sets in there. I liked Mayfair cuz it wasn't pornstars and over glammed, nice chicks, good photography.

i discovered i only like gonzo style video porn early on, got tired of renting movies based on hot box covers only to see some really lame VIVID movie that i just fast forwarded through - then I discovered Buttman and Evil Angel, still the kings of gonzo, and Ed Powers when he was younger and better and then Seymore Butts, who early on was the best of them all. Seymore Meets Shane is my favorite porn video of all time, Jenna Jameson's debut with Randy West a close second, if it had been with somebody other than Randy i'd probably put that one #1.

If anybody in this biz has never seen Jenna Jameson's first movie, Up n Cummers with Randy West, you are insane. It's porn history in the making.

Sure. I'm a female and I've bought tons of porn, even after webmastering. A few months ago I bought 2 Rocco dvd's... Rocco is my fave Euro super stud, he is so manly and strong and rough, I love it. Out side of having a Playboy subscription...I have not had an interest in porn since about age 15 or 16. BTW...I do not consider Playboy as being porn...and I subscribed to it because it is a good magazine...the pics are just a plus.
