Why does everyone want a paysite ?
Before everyone wanted to become the next Hun, now everyone wants to become the next Marc De, or what ?
Or do some people feel that if they don't run paysites, they are "worse" that those who do? In the past there were a few affiliate programs and thousands of webmasters who promoted them and respected their owners... Now eveyrone starts a paysite and affiliate program... but i have no idea why? There's money to be made in SE, TGP, whatever...and with a few exceptions ( see sig ) all the CCbill affiliate programs look basically the same so it's obvious that they won't be making huge bank... Just some thoughts.... |
It's assumed that paysites equal jumping to the next level. Unless you are able to produce somthing exclusive and unique, your content will just fall in with the rest of the pack. You're sometimes better off as an affiliate. It's less affiliate headache and you're not limited to a strict set of content.

Maybe they believe that their traffic is worth more than sponsors are paying for it. I.E. Shaving

I doubt I will ever venture into that side of things..

I have thought this but it is a need to me. I guess I want to lock in on all aspects of income from this biz. TGP, Traffic, Paysites, hosting, design,...Do it all, let no money escape.
I worked for a company that had all it's internal resourses. What ever one branch needed it got it from another branch. Once the money came from outside sources (customers) it would stay inside. This is my goal:thumbsup |

I can never do better than Topbucks so I plan to promote them until i die |
Look one can make good money with tgping bit eventually it is limited, you are simply not gonna make 50k a month with submitting to tgps (except for 1 or 2 rare exceptions) plus the day you stop submitting it will get less and less. Paysites makes it basically endless how much you can make and people will keep on promoting you, no money loss if you take a break for a week unlike tgping.
Its just easier and more money for a longer term. |

But i meant those small Ccbill affiliate programs that always act so desperate to get affiliates. If the affiliate program should earn only a few $k per month, then i'd rather earn that amount as an affiliate of other programs, without worrying about problems with customers, charge backs, burocracy, buying content, upating site etc. |

The supply of webmasters must be also limited... And although i got no experience with paysites, i don;t think you can forget about it for a week...what about updating it, ensurign host is not down etc... I can imagine that if something happens only for a few days and you are not aware of it because you are on vacation, then customers who cannot access your site because it's down ( or are not happy, because the site hasnt been updated ), will simply charge back and this kill your site........ If i start a paysite one day, then it will care about it very much...i'd say that having a paysite brings more responsibility that just submitting galleries. |

Paysiting is for larger fish. Yeah, every Tom Dick and Harry may have one nowadays, but the people with proper connections and maybe even more importantly plenty of startup capital will prevail.
It's survival of the fittest, plain and simple. |
It might have something to do with the fact that paysites owners rock in "show your car" threads.
There is simply more money the higher up you climb. |
Every fool can run a paysite. But do you know how to manage the paysite, how to get traffic and how to keep your members happy. Buying a bulk deal paysite content doesnt mean you're there allready, lots of big players have bought that deal allready as just an '' add '' to there normall content.
A low budget paysite wont make it in this Industry. Most people think running a paysite is easy but isnt. |
Yeah, there's tons of paysites and affiliate programs out there now... but the competition is a good thing. It means higher payouts for webmasters, and better features.
