So what DO they do with used bodybags?

Do they re-use body bags? Or do they throw them away and get new ones? I know you can't re-use coffins once a body has been inside at all.

sid275 06-03-2004 08:56 PM

reuse of course , duh , dead people don't care about hygiene

Spunky 06-03-2004 08:57 PM

Doctors reuse their surgeon gowns don't they...nothing differant..probably get laundered...unless the body has aids or some harsh disease then probably burned

Mr. Marks 06-03-2004 09:05 PM

i have no idea. how macabre. i think its reused, though what if the body had leprosy or something. eww.

Mr Pheer 06-03-2004 09:59 PM

Its classed as biological waste and disposed of.

Why would you even think it would be reused?

pimplink 06-03-2004 11:19 PM

I saw one flick where they re-use the bodybags...of course maybe they don't really do that in real life

Why not? it's not like you have to worry about a dead person contracting diseases.

yeah but the test results for cause of death could be altered if its contracted after the time of death

fris 06-03-2004 11:36 PM

i sale short bodybags for traffic

Screaming 06-03-2004 11:37 PM

im sure they use them as much as possible then throw them away

BuggyG 06-04-2004 05:22 PM

why not re-use??
I mean.. tough times call for tough measures
reduce.. reuse.. and RECYCLE

or however that saying goes
:winkwink:

freeadultcontent 06-04-2004 05:24 PM

Disposed of as medical waste and your insurance or whatnot would be billed.

oh yeah... i guess the dead people just hop in the body bag all by themselves.

Sill me, i always thought someone had to put them in there.

Yeah since the dead jump in the bags themselves and nobody else would ever be at risk of infection, i cant see why they wouldnt be used over and over.

Please people, think before you type, m'kay?

Goose 06-04-2004 05:29 PM

that's a good question...we probably can only guess!
I'd say they reuse it, because as somebody said, the hygenic is not that impoartant anymore...

Actually I think they would be more worried about potential foriensic curruption. The people handling the bags do wear latex gloves and all that shit.

I think they reuse them, they disinfect them of course.

Just like dentist and surgens they reuse their scalpels and what not, they run that stuff thorugh an Autoclave.

NickPapageorgio 06-04-2004 05:35 PM

Melt them down and make condoms.:thumbsup

You can not use an autoclave on plastics or fabrics. It would melt most items.

I don't think they re-use em.. medical people like everything to be nice and clean.. keeping around old used bags filled with blood / urine / shit isn't very hygenic.

bdld 06-04-2004 07:16 PM

i sure as heck hope they dont re-use them.
