New Lamborghini that would not start

I was parked at my friends house a while a bit ago. His neighbor had just gotten a brand new Lamborghini and after having it a week, the car would not start up. It would idle for a few seconds, with dark smoke pouring out of the exhaust, then when any pressure was put on the accelerator, it would stall?had to get a dealer technician to come out to troubleshoot it.

Amazing, over 200K and breaks down after less than a week

had to take a pic through the window ;)

Oracle Porn 06-03-2004 06:33 PM

i would take that shit back
for 200k it better start by just by me thinking of starting it.

lagwagon 06-03-2004 06:34 PM

dont lie corvett. tell gfy the truth. that is your lamborghini and you can believe that it broke down on you. you still owe me a ride in that lambo.

Overscore 06-03-2004 06:37 PM

Why would someone waste 200 grand on car, but be stuck living in a house with neighbors so close? I'd much rather continue living in my isolated wooded lot with a $5000 car.

Because they can.

squint and look to the right, i am not talking about honda reliability here ;)

Mr Pheer 06-03-2004 06:44 PM

sounds like a bad oxygen sensor causing the computer to over-rich the fuel injection. Pretty simple to fix. I've had 2 corvettes that did that.

Illicit 06-03-2004 06:45 PM

still a sweet ride, I need to get my $ in order so I can get one someday

I understand the "because they can" reasoning, but I don't understand being stuck in some crappy second floor condo with a $200,00 car sitting outside. I can't help but just roll my eyes at people who spend more on a car than on their houses. I'm not against getting a $200,000 car if that's what you want, but doing so while living in a $500 a month apartment is asinine. That car deserves a nice house with a nice garage. First things first, you know?

Yeah but you'd think it'd be running in open loop mode when it's first started...

I agree there's a rich condition, but I can't see a bad O2 sensor causing the thing to run THAT rich. But, well, when was the last time I worked on a Lamborghini? :1orglaugh

Yeah, I am being a bit too presumptuous. So, I'll just say that my opinion is for the people in the world that it applies to and not this particular person, unless he is one of those people. Apologies to corvett's friend's neighbor if he doesn't fall into the category I described. :winkwink:

smokingdawn 06-03-2004 06:52 PM

LOL...$200,000 piece of crap

Vitasoy 06-03-2004 06:53 PM

I'd return it for a new one.

corvette 06-03-2004 06:53 PM

btw, i could have gotten a better picture if i had walked outside and stood next to the car while he was trying to start it, but he might have gotten angry...

so use a zoom lens

Triple 6 06-03-2004 06:55 PM

if he doesnt know how to drive stick and messed around trying to do so at high speeds, those problems will certainly occur.

fuzebox 06-03-2004 07:03 PM

That always happened to me whenever an intercooler hose popped off.

They just don't make anything like they used to. :1orglaugh

Obviously some manufacturing defect.. it happens.

Pornwolf 06-03-2004 07:13 PM

Damnit, I thought I would be able to buy a nice vacation home in Arizona and drive my lambo in peace. Now I find out Corvett is stalking me. Damn damn damn. That's why I bought the little piece of shit Honda in the first place, anonymity!

herbal logic 06-03-2004 07:49 PM

arent they suppose to put 100 miles on before selling it? maybe the neighbor didnt break it in? bet its his fault:2 cents:

Ironhorse 06-03-2004 07:51 PM

he should've stuck with a Corvett :winkwink:

riosluts 06-03-2004 08:00 PM

just because its a lambo or an expensive car doesnt mean it has to be perfect everytime. its probably something little like an oxygen sensor gone bad

Reminds me of being in Rotterdam last summer and seeing a brand new Ferrari 360 Modena parked at one of those row houses that are so common there. Guy had to have lived there cause I passed by there all the time and it moved daily. Had to share the lot with all the crappy Euro economy cars. :BangBang:

it's a Gallardo not a Murcielago maybe that's why you can't tell?

Rictor 06-03-2004 09:54 PM

There's something to be said for condo life...owning a home brings a lot of hassles even if it is a good long term investment.

Screaming 06-03-2004 09:56 PM

doesnt surprise me, that old saying you get what you pay for doesnt seem to hold water, these days it seems sometimes that if you pay five bucks for something it will last three years but you pay a thousand and it breaks in 2 days, go figure

yes, he was very angry, tried to start it 3-4 times, walked around the car talking to the dealer on his cell phone...

when somebody came from the dealer, he said "220K (i think, it was around there), one week" and handed him the keys

AdultNex 06-04-2004 10:53 AM

Is that guy crazy?

Having a lambo outside... I'd be worried if a couple punks were rolling around outside.

asuna 06-04-2004 10:55 AM

Wow, that's a video I'd wanna see :1orglaugh
