Who has GPS in their car/truck?
Been playing around with the one from Hertz, it's pretty cool, but the machines themselves are about $1400 each, but is their a monthly fee after to stay on the GPS system or is it a one time thing?
|
I have seen that Hertz offers free GPS upgrades but I haven't tried it yet.
I am kinda old school though and usually get by quite nicely with this... http://www.stanleylondon.com/sextnt-4.jpg |
GPS is free. It uses government owned satellites
Ive had them in all of my cars for the last 3 or so years |
I Use my nextel.... works very well, voice prompts etc.
|
I have them in my cars...its FREE
|
I only use one on our boat. there are chips for different areas. When we moved our boat from maryland to NJ the new chip we bought cost about $250 bucks.
if u have ever read a nautical map it is a pleasure to have a gps system! |

When i bought my new car it was allready installed/integrated, nice little toy it is :)

Garmin has one that I can plug into a laptop, so I can swap it out from cars,
What models do you guys have? Should I go with a big one that stays in the car or a handheld model? |
I had gps on my bike... it still works but needs a new antenna, old one got lost when the truck hit me

I'll be helping a buddy install a computer and GPS unit with touch screen in his car probably sometime in July. Total cost for everything (screen included) will only be like $800 US. Not too shabby really.

You can't afford to go to a show that's 3 hours away from you, but you can buy a GPS? You are a true bozo. :glugglug

I have 2 of these
http://superstore-electronics.com/pr...in_spllllf.jpg Garmin Street Navigator, they run about 750 or so. It reroutes faster then the one I had in my Mercedes. It's full color and talks. |
I've had GPS in all of my cars... OEM and after market. The OEM is much better (at least from Lexus) so if they make if for your car, get it from the dealer. It's worth the extra money. At the very least, make sure it's touchscreen. Voice and remote controlled are very cumbersome. What make of vehicle?

Don't you need to own a car to put a GPS in one? :winkwink:
