Does a full moon really effect people?
I was jogging on the beach tonight and noticed the tides are really weird and the people at the bars were jumping earlier than usual. On the drive back to the crib there was traffic and people driving crazy so it leaves me to believe it effects our inner tides. Anyway, just thought I'd share that with ya:2 cents:
|
definietly brings the wolf out in people...i've always noticed more fights and crazy shit whenever i've gone out on full moon nights
|
That's "affect". It has an "effect" on people, in other words, it "affects" them.
Yes, I think it does. Ask anyone who has worked in an ER. |
Ask the police and hospitals...they seem to see an increase in biz.
|
No it doesnt.
People just seem to recall wierd shit happening on a full moon since it is not a daily occurance. Stats are always the same though in their areas full moon or not. This is backed up by ER reports etc. |

If you ask cops or ER staff the will tell you that it definetly affects people.

Here in Scottsdale, When there is a huge full moon that appears lower to the Earth's surface it looks creepy and people do seem more hyped up.
|
Does this make affect you? :)
http://www.x0rs.com/voyeur/scenery/04-06-01/moon2.jpg I got this pic of the moon last night. |
Also just to show how damn stupid our minds are.
Simple little test. When the moon is full or looks really big or close. Go stand on stable ground and twist yourself so your looking at it upside down. You will quickly see it go back to its normall small ass looking self. |
|
NO!! I just watched a show on this the other day. It was pretty funny. I can't remember it in detail but they were interviewing people who believe it does, including the ER, and then the people who do not believe it does. It was pretty interesting and by the end of the show the case that was made for it not affecting people totally blew away the people who believe it did.
But here's a link to myths that I thought was interesting. http://abcnews.go.com/sections/2020/..._040322-1.html |
This would have been a good question to ask either Jack the Ripper or Ted Bundy.
:) |
I think, yes... The full mon may effect on those people who are more sensitive to any natural changes :)

Not sure, but I do get all hairy, grow fangs and want to kill people once a month.
Come to think of it, that might just be my wife's period causing all that... |
Humans are like 75% water. If a full moon raises the tides, I think that it has some affect on people...deep thoughts...lol

i think that there's really an effect to an individual . . . .

It's crazy that I had this same exact convo about the moon about an hour before I saw this thread... |
sometimes you just gota stop and take in the beauty of where you are at that moment!
|
yes it does... I worked at the local racetrack and on full moon night the drivers are 10 times more agressive on the track & the parties in the pit area after the races last longer than normal...
|
And no matter how much hard data people will get, they will refuse to alter their beliefs. Tsk Tsk.

hearing people spew bs like this is almost painful :2 cents:
i hate these wiccans / related retards who think that chunks of rock floating around in space hundreds of millions of miles away (or worse, where they happened to be when you slid out of your mothers vagina) affects your personality. :feels-hot can we please start teaching critical thinking in school? the moon affects the tides because of gravity. not magic. 80% of the planet is covered in water. that's a huge mass. however your body only has a few quarts; not enough mass to be affected. even if ... the only affect it could have would be to make you weigh (insignificantly) less. You do not have 'inner tides' ... bunch of hippy nonsense. :disgust |
It was said that full moon does have some effect on people.

I worked in the behavioral health field for a year with people who suffered from mental illnesses like schizophrenia, depression and bipolar disorders. I did notice that when there was a full moon that we were receiving more crisis calls in the office as well as visiting the hospital more than on other times of the month. It was weird to watch people change during the full moon.
|
Oh how PT Barnum was so spot on.
|
"to catch the wolf you have to be the wolf..... howwwwww howwwooooooooooooooooooooooo..." Going running again in the full moon at 5 am. howwwwwhowwwwooooooooooooooo.. :1orglaugh
|
I think people just act weirder because they know its the full moon and people act weird on the full moon.

Yeah..when I give folks the ole shiney hiney they get upset quick and look at me with disgust.
|
I would have to think that it does have an affect on people. Mourges by date in calenders record more deaths, E.R. rooms always have more cases, and more babies are born. At least this is the case at Cook County Hospital's E.R. where my mother works. Every full moon she says her medical team is always expecting very busy days and that they don't debate whether or not the full moon has an affect. They claim it does and that they even plan to be busy on full moons.

"the moon affects the tides because of gravity. not magic.
80% of the planet is covered in water. that's a huge mass. however your body only has a few quarts; not enough mass to be affected. even if ... the only affect it could have would be to make you weigh (insignificantly) less." Maybe so, but many also speculate that the iron in your blood is affected by the principal of gravity and magnetic fields that are altered by a full moon's gravitational pull. You don't need to believe in magic to belive that there are effects generated by these changes. |
It's a conspiracy
*gets taken out by Government snipers* |
i believe that moon affects human's behavior!
dunno, i just believe.... |
Perhaps, but I think it's kind of everyones belief.
|
Uh whats a full moon exactly? More light bounces of it, the earth doesnt block the sun so it covers the whole moon??? Is there more gravity because of that? People act weird because she sun shines more light on the moon?
You guys are idiot. |
Theres always a full moon, a half moon doesnt exist, the moon is always there. Its friggin light we see being reflected. This doesnt do shit to people. If i shine a flashlight on you do you suddenly change? No you dont.
|
Theres absolutely no proof a full moon does anything to people besides make you sleep worse at night because of the extra light it might shine in your room.
People want to believe shit full moon shit like this, its sounds romantic, mysterious. And those sensitive idiots read a topic like this where another idiot says something happened to him a year ago during a full moon, then goes to his other sensitive buddy's to tell that story to them etc. A new mystery is born... |
