Cash or Credit?

Do you personally prefer to buy things with cash or credit? I personally always buy things with cash. I have credit cards, but never use them except if I need something online. But for big purchases, I've just always used cash ( or a check ). I just really don't like the idea of paying something off later on.. I bought paid cash for my car, and my condo.. To me it feels better that way.. What about you? Do you like credit cards? or would you rather use cash..

Cash, or debit card for larger purchases.

I will never, ever touch a credit card.

Cash.

I use credit cards for everything I possibly can, including paying for utility bills :) I have several cash rebate cards, an Amazon card that gives me gift certificates, and I've earned about 10 free flights over the years on one of my master cards :)

I pay them in full every month and enjoy the protection if something I purchase isn't what I was sold.

Debit cards are fine and dandy until you find out yours is being used fraudulently because you're bouncing checks :( If you have a debit card, I STRONGLY suggest getting rid of it. If you need to, write your credit card purchases in your checkbook like you would your debit card. That way you'll have the money to pay it off when the bill comes in :thumbsup

I hate using debit cards and will likely never use it. Too much at stake to lose if you're password becomes compromised.

I tend to use credit cards everywhere. First off, you can chargeback, a nice layer of protection. Second, the reward points you can rack up and lastly, as proof of purchase for business expenses.

baycouples 06-02-2004 04:17 PM

I use my Visa Debit card. It's like using cash, but without carrying it with you.

Same here. Much easier to whip out the plastic when making a purchase then fumbling around with the money clip and a wad of cash.

It takes some discipline to pay the cards off every month but I do it without a problem. To each his own.

Depends on what you're looking to do. Using your CC and making payments on it will help build your credit up, if you dont care about that then pay cash

pornJester 06-02-2004 04:33 PM

I use my check card mostly, which is basically the same as cash.

For larger purchases that I'd like to pay over time I use my credit cards.

smokingdawn 06-02-2004 04:37 PM

I buy everything I can with my air miles mastercard. :)

I never carry a balance though.. I probably pay it off 2x a month on average,

I just like free airmiles. :)

Drunken Sam 06-02-2004 05:10 PM

cash-back credit cards, it's like having a 1% (or whatever your card gives back) edge on the rest of the world

Sosa 06-02-2004 05:20 PM

checks and credit cards mostly.

Aquarius 06-02-2004 05:26 PM

StRoGE 06-02-2004 06:28 PM

Plastic is my friend. Credit cards are NOT my friend.
