how many tgps to submit to?

most tgps have a rule that says "the recipis not required but you have more chances to get listed..."
so I want to know what is the max number of recip links one should have on a gallery page?

i put one on each gallery.

just to keep it clean.

* some tgp owners will argue they only want their button with no others.(dont know why since all the traffic to that gallery will be coming from them to begin with)

* some tgp owners will argue that they want more than one cuz they want the traffic from eachothers. (so minimal that its silly to think this way)

* some tgp owners will not require one at all. ( this is the proper way.... keep it clean)

People put 3 to 4 recips on a page because that page is posted to those 3 to 4 tgps. Ideally what you want is the page to get listed on tgp1, tgp2, tgp3, and tgp4. Then when someone is at tgp1 and visits your page, he sees the recips and now has a choice of going to your sponsor, hitting the back button or going to one of the other tgps. It is mainly for bringing in traffic to a tgp.

Actually, I don't think most TGP owners expect to get much traffic back from the recip link on your gallery (if the surfer wants to come back they will hit the back button). Recips are good because the more sites that link to you...the higher you are ranked in certain search engines...so a TGP with 100,000 galleries linked to it will have a pretty high ranking.

TGPs get nice traffic back from recips !!
if a TGP have 150 submissions/day all with recips and every gallery sends about 10-15 hits/day ... you know this could bring some extra traffic

the same goes for the counter companies...
even if they get only just few hit from every gallery their counter is on they sure get lots of hits...

Yeah, it's silly as hell to have 1 recip on a page. If I'm sending all the traffic to that gallery everyone there knows about me (the main point of the recip in my mind). I mean everyone has a "back" button, right?

And the traffic from recips adds up if you're getting alot of submissions.

Also it's a pain in the ass making a seperate page for every TGP, I usually submit to about 50, I make 12 pages. Less work, makes the TGP's happy, gets me listed.

Yeah recips on galleries are great -- a TGP can get recip hits from a gallery for weeks, months, years... What happens is some TGP's copy other TGP's postings -- people just like to link good galleries -- or bookmark them -- I still get recip clicks off galleries I made last year and totally forgot about. A lot of gallery gurus make some kind of cgi for recip hits -- which send the surfer to a random (or semi-random) TGP in their pool of friends -- and a "main page" link is always a good idea too.

TGP and poster can save each other work -- I could post maybe 100 galleries at once w/o recip links as long as I was getting some recip traffic off their "main page" so the gallery guy could add my link in one place instead of 100 places...

Someone mentioned that they don't really expect much traffic back. This is more or less the truth, but consider the fact that a majority of TGP's get spidered by various Search Engines all the time. There are thousands of galleries getting indexed by the engines every day.

That gallery has 3-4 chances to get spidered, and once it's in the engines, those 3-4 recips are sitting right on top of the page.. link about how appealing that looks to some idiot searching for free pics and looking at the 120th result of his search.. "Blah Blah TGP, Links to 100,000 Free Pics!"

I've always tried (tried is definently a key word here ) to go back after a month and strip the recips off my galleries that have been added to the engines..
