America probably could not have won its freedom from the British during the American Revolution without the help of the French. France provided arms, ships, money, and men to the American colonies. Some Frenchmen - most notably the Marquis de Lafayette, a close friend of George Washington - even became high-ranking officers in the American army. It was an alliance of respect and friendship the French would not forget.

When I was in France, I stopped at a restaurant in the middle of nowhere to get some breakfast. Not only are they supposed to serve a customer, but they were literally in the middle of nowhere so you would think they'd be grateful for every single person they get in there. But no. I ordered some eggs and they fucking treated me like shit. Like it was beneath them to make me some damn eggs.

that's just one of many examples of my experience in France.

Conversely, Spain was one of the friendliest countries I've ever been too. Those people rock.

It's the same way for me. I'm from Paris and when i go to nowhere in france they treat me like shit. we are not racist, people living in small city really doesnt know what business is. But its the same way in nowhere in usa ( texas if i remember ).

I've enjoyed most everywhere I've been. I loved the UK, Denmark, Spain, Germany, Italy..... I'd go back to any of them. All great people. But I'll never go back to France.

(wasn't too crazy about Saudi Arabia or Iraq though either)

France helped us in the Revolution not because they were great guys, but because they were old enemies with Britain (as was seemingly everyone else back then including Spain and the Dutch)and were pissed off about territories they had lost in the Americas during the Seven Years War. In addition, Lafayette wanted revenge against the British for the death of his father. There wasn't some grand higher purpose that should cause us as Americans to feel endebted to them forever. Even if there was, that debt was more than repaid with American blood at Normandy. Learn some history.

I do no longer buy any products made in France. That's the best way to disagree with their policy.

This is true but as mentioned the US returned the favor not only once but twice with both WW2 and Vietnam, we saved the French's butts in both conflicts. I don't think most Americans really wanted Iraq but it was forced upon us by a corrupt leader.

I think the reason most Americans now have issues with France, is because France's leaders came out and said that they would not support the war in Iraq no matter what the proof was. This means even if Bush wasn't the moron he is, and if there was a real reason to attack Iraq. The French still would have protested it.

Why? Because the French just like the Russians had a lot to lose with Iraq being taken down. Both countries had a lot of business dealings with Iraq after the first Gulf war. Notice both of these countries were the most vocal about not going into Iraq.

One can argue the US took out Iraq for oil or what ever, but one can also argue that both the French and the Russians were willing to do business with a man that only 11-12 years earlier sent his troops to Kuwait to kill and rape innocent people. I may not agree with the Iraq war but one thing is for sure Sadam and his regime needed to be brought down, the world is a better place with out him. May take a little while to recover in Iraq, but they will be better off.

We liberated the west front earlier. What we did for the most part was stopping the communists from taking back all Europe.
