ICQ used to work here in Australia but it gradually got worse and worse. Now it doesn't work at all, atleast I don't know anyone who has it working.

Yeah ICQ used to work perfectly.. I didn't know they didn't work anymore. I used to send sms messages to New Zealand everyday with no problems.

Good idea. I'm on Tmobile in the USA and they have a webpage for anyone to send an SMS message to any TM subscriber. I'm pretty sure most of the major cell phone carriers has a similar deal.
