Insomnia kicked in again...

What to do, anybody have any cures?

Lycanthrope 06-02-2004 01:21 AM

a Guiness served at room temperature does nicely.

I used to suffer from it quite badly, but I got out of it by simply staying awake the whole night and next day, and was too tired to not sleep the next day.. from there i just sleep every night fine now

Welcome to my hell Cyberage Dave. There is this stuff called Melatonin that I get at my local health food place. It helps me sometimes. Then again, it's 4:30 am here on the East Coast and I am writing insomnia cures. Kind of ironic eh? Anyway, it works for some, give it a try.

a nice bowl normally does the trick... donno any other way, i remember when i was real young my mom would microwave milk and make it warm... i dono if that is reallt true though (if it helps you get to sleep)

Don't sleep for 48 hours! Not even a wink! :winkwink:

buddyjuf 06-02-2004 01:38 AM

its not that I don't get tired at 4:30 am

it's just that I woke up at 3:30 pm :1orglaugh

Hey whats your email Cyberage Dave?
IAFA

StRoGE 06-02-2004 01:40 AM

I never get a full nights sleep anymore.
I usually stay up for 8-12 hours then sleep for 2-4 hours and repeat. I dont wait for night or any specific times. If I feel a little tired, I'll take a nap. Luckily this industry allows me to get away with such a relaxed schedule.

take advantage of the awake time and get some work done, you'll get tired sooner or later.

Semi-Retired-Dave 06-02-2004 01:44 AM

Back in the days of starting this biz, I used to sleep every other day. That worked out well. But can't do that anymore. I take ambien but that fucks my up the next day. I may have to take half now and see what it does for me this morning. Thanks guys.

I've done that a lot... I just did that last week and my sleeping schedule is fucked again. (4:45 am here). The work just never seems to end. I need to make myself a set schedule, but my workaholic side of me takes over and I just don't stop until I completely burn out.

Yep. Warming up milk brings out the Tryptophan, which is a natural sedative (same thing that's in turkey).

I find watching tv with the sound low, or reading works for me.
