what video editing software do you use?
 

Final Cut Pro? Premiere? Vegas? Avid? Pinnacle? other?

Im starting to work with video and dont know whats a good one to buy.

I 2nd that. Premiere has always done well for me.

Premiere is the optimum, but if you need a free software try VirtualDub

We use the Adobe Suite, although FCP & Co makes a nice set of applications too. In order to get some nice hardware from Apple you need to spend a lot of $$$ though. Only drawback.

Video editing in VirtualDub? :eek7 Isn't VD more of a processing utility?

Pinnacle for newbs. Vegas video or fcp for experieneced editors. Never cared much for premiere

A lot of people use Vegas and swear by it by I have used both extensivly and Vegas cannot touch Premiere pro as far as editing video goes.

I use Vegas now but have used Pinnacle for years and still use it occasionally.

So what do you want to do, learn to edit video or learn enough to get you by?
Microsoft paint is easier and cheaper than Adobe Photoshop, so go with it right?

If you want easy and cheap just get Windows movie maker. It's free and youll be making great Birthday Party videos in no time. :thumbsup
