Don't Buy Shell Gas! It will Ruin your sensors!

So, for anyone that hasn't heard this.......DON'T BUY SHELL GAS! THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT.

I was driving home today and my car started to drive funny......wouldn't go over 1000rpms, couldn't get it past 15mph, riding really rough......then the car just stoped.....I thought I blew the engine or some such horrible fate. I called my road side assistance and they told me that my car ran out of fuel.......I was very insulted and taken a back......I had 1/2 of a tank of fuel in there. They then told me that there was too much sulpher put into their recent batches of gas (or something like that) and it was ruining the car sensors so the gas tank registered there was fuel when there was none. However, once this happens, you have to bring in your car and they need to replace the sensors.......this has happened to so many people that the dealerships are all back ordered. There is no cost to you, however, until they get the parts in, you must make sure you are always running with a lot of gas in your car.

So, the good news is.....my car drank $40 dollars of gas after the tow truck picked me up after over an hour waiting on the side of the road......he now runs like a top........no bad damage, however, i have to bring the car in to the dealership. I mentioned this to a few people after I got back (rant) and they said they heard about it on our news feed.......haha, I should have paid closer attention.......

DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!

OMG......it was such an awful experience......thank G-d, could have been worse......I never pay attention where I get gas......I just go to the closest station when running low.......

Shell is subsidising the dealerships, so the dealerships are paying for this, I guess no matter how old your car is....so, if they take the car in.....they'll get it fixed and won't have to be so cautious when they are driving around.

Is it just Shell???

baddog 06-01-2004 07:13 PM

hahahaha - you guys think that different gas station brands actually have different gas? Well, maybe if you live in the middle of nowhere, but for the most part, all the pipes under your city are sharing the gas between several different brand names
