The Nightmare Of Outsourcing (Design Gone Crappy)
 

Ok...
this is entry #3 of my diary of how dissapointed I am with the company I hired to make me a simple gallery template

The company isn't the actual maker of their gallery templates..
they outsource to some unknown place...

Well after 3-4 days of not seeing a rough draft of my gallery..
I ask my designer whats up..

He tells me that his gallery guy is having computer problems, and that it might be a LONG while before he can make my template. But that he had "another guy" who could do it..

Well..
after about 5 days..
I finally get my first rough draft

I like it..
It's pretty much what I asked for..
simple and plain with a little flair to it..

Well anyway...
I get e-mailed the FINAL COPY

guess what NO PSD Files?
(Is this amateur night or what)

I e-mail the "company owner" and tell him I'm missing psd files..
Then I get e-mailed another FINAL COPY
this time I get psd files...

But A BIG GIGANTIC PSD FILE of the ENTIRE GALLERY
(What the fuck am I going to do with this, I'm not a designer)
*I need the PSD files chopped up just like the gallery is chopped up

You would think a professional design company would "attempt" to have better customer service and operations

In the design world you usually get what you pay for. I charge more than the average for my designs but people pay for it because they know I"m not going to flake out on them. They'll spend the extra $100 to have a peice of mind that they're not going to get fuct and they're job is going to get done.

Next time try to research a company before purchasing from them. Especially designers. Not sure why but most designers are flakey by nature. Hope everything works out for you.

paid $49 for a remix of a gallery template that "I" made

So this wasn't even a from scratch project..
more like an improvement on something I had

I think I paid a VERY DECENT amount
for the actual "WORK" that was required

$49 for a gallery template - WTF


You got ripped off.


There are a bunch of reputable gallery designers on this board.
None charge $49 for a gallery template.

They FUCKED me..
I ordered 2 templates..
one of them is close to what I asked for so I'm happy with it..

but the 2nd one..
they better give me something better for what I paid

or I'm going to have to cause a real fuss

Are you sure this is an outsourcing company?
or the guy just gives work to others and calles it outsourcing when in fact he's giving it to freelancers.

Your better dealing direct with the bigger outsourcing companines such as ourselves or Adultoutsourcing.

That way you get to speak directly to your designer online and you can both brainstorm to get what you want.

I noticed your other thread to say he was not online or something that mentioned his PC was down right?
Well we have back up PC's for this and we have redundant internet lines to cover our connection.

We have enough designers to take a job on in case one is sick.

As for your PSD problems, we will present them to you in and way you want so you can work with them.

You can deal with the big outsourcing companines directly on Instant Message round the clock...

Hope this helps, but sounds like your not getting outsourcing and your getting freelances or a middle man...

We also do co-branded outsoucing for some bigger clients and talk direct to there clients under their name, sounds like your guy won't let ya talk to the outsourcing company.

This is a very reputable design company
But I guess they are cutting corners nowadays....
