When is enough enough?

When do you finally give up? Or do you EVER give up?

Admit defeat?

Why/ why not?

Ice 05-31-2004 08:42 PM

Never give up..... just makes me work harder and want it more :glugglug

Screaming 05-31-2004 08:43 PM

depends on the situation and what is at stake if you admit defeat, but in most cases in you are wrong and that is evident then just admit defeat and move on

jdog31 05-31-2004 08:43 PM

depends on what you are talking about, most of the time its not worth fighting for becuase things don't change by force

doober 05-31-2004 08:44 PM

Giving up is easy and shows weakness in character.
its always much harder to go on, so dont give up!

:thumbsup

When you invest $15k and the business plan fails you don't give up, you just try something new.

Sly_RJ 05-31-2004 08:45 PM

Failure isn't a reason to give up. It's a reason to try again.

nathan_f 05-31-2004 08:46 PM

when the last breath leaves my lungs. :2 cents:

It all depends on what it is. Sometimes you have to cave in relationships, you can't be boss all the time, things can't always go your way. But as for life tossing crisis after crisis at me....I'm a tiger...and I never, ever give up. I'll be damned if I will go down without a fight.

Would you happen to know if they're hiring? I could use some extra cash.

MrIzzz 05-31-2004 08:48 PM

i like to let people walk all over me, its a fetish of mine:)

rickholio 05-31-2004 08:49 PM

You're asking for a specific answer to very very general and diverse situations, but I think with age comes wisdom to know which battles are worth fighting and which ones are worth letting slide.

People who claim that no fight is worth walking away from have never 'enjoyed' the results of phyrric victories, where the damage caused by the conflict itself far outdoes the benefit of victory.

They stopped accepting my applications- said I was using up too much paper and it was becoming a problem.

You never give up. What you do instead is.. if you're tired... you go to bed before you decide anything definite

If what you're doing isn't working, you regroup and find some different tactics

Defeat is something that is relative. It means different things to different people.

I never give up, there's no need for it

When someone had really gone too far.

EviLGuY 06-01-2004 03:57 AM

Giving up? It depends on what we are talking about here.. in a new venture I give up when I decide the amount of time I spend on it isn't worth the return.

Some things though I will never give up on. (non work related..)

pimplink 06-01-2004 04:07 AM

winners never give up!
