ztik 05-31-2004 07:59 PM

jetta would be more reliable since its newer, but blazer is much better imo

TweetyBird 05-31-2004 08:00 PM

I'd say Jetta :winkwink:

reynold 05-31-2004 08:04 PM

A jetta sounds reasonable!

forgot to mention the blazer has a newer motor with low mileage.

milage probably isnt as good still

If you're ona budget, the Blazer isn't the way to go, you'll definitely get a more reliable car out of the Jetta. I've owned both, and still own a VW (Yet another) today.. The Blazers (Had 3) are long gone, always required money to be thrown into them.

bottom line, which will cost less money as well as time wise when it comes to owning the vehicle.

The jetta will cost less. they consume less gasoline, tires are smaller thus cheaper to replace, more reliable and honnestly, better suited for a "family" environment. Think about loading the kid into it 5 times a day. They seldom break down, but when they do,, lock your wallet down. If you live in Canada, don't get the Jetta, replacement parts will kill you because of duty charges to get it over the border.

Only good thing about the Blazer is it is cheaper to fix when it breaks, but lets face it, it's an american made car, they break more than I break wind. They also consumn way more gas, Even if you can afford to gas it, think about the time it takes toc onstantly gas the pig everytime you turn around, as well, gas prices will never go anywhere but up up up.

comparing apples to oranges.

a chevy, dodge or ford motor (not as bad but still) with 100k miles on it is still worse than a VW with 750k on it.

I have a 90 Golf with almost 300k on it. Motor has once ceased due to never having an oil change in 10 years (stupid former female owner) yet a simple rebuild and the motor is still reliable for it's age and very good on gas.

thanx for the input guys :thumbsup

Chevy's are quality vehicles, but VW is a far better quality vehicle. If you get a diesel VW that is even better. I had a 95' VW Golf for about 8 years and it was extremely dependable, until it got totaled.

If you're a gay man or a straight woman, get the Jetta.
