Can a paysite convert without exclusive contents?

Just curious if it's possible to start a successful paysite without the exclusive contents? Discuss away!

HAHAHAHAHAHA have you looked at most paysites?

aaron 05-31-2004 06:45 PM

of course

riosluts 05-31-2004 06:46 PM

haha this reminds me of the 1998 days. Where every paysite had like 10000's of pictures that the next paysite offered also

FlyingIguana 05-31-2004 06:51 PM

if its a quality site thats well executed with good content it should sell.

I dont know how successful it is, but many programs are built around non exclusive content..

hell, look at wildcash, its nothing special, built around like $2000 worth of Dvds

That's because sites like that rely on cross/up sales. I'm talking about a site that converts and maintain retention...I'm thinking Exclusive is probably the only way to go.... but then again I could be wrong, so I thought where better to ask then the most fucked up place. LOL

Alot depends on what your level of sucess is. Many paysites out there actually have next to no content in them and just rely on plug-ins. Many others have just built themselves up using DVD licenses and rips.
Honestly if the majority of paysites were using exclusives we would see a whole lot less content providers bending over backwards to please a 30.00 client.

All the content in my site pineapplepink.com is exclusive other than some of my older stuff that I licensed when I first got into the biz. I think exclusive is the way to go if your in it for the long hall. Just look at the sites that are doing really good. they are using exclusive content. The real question is how do you get affiliate to realize it so they join your program and send traffic?

Yes is the answer to your question. Exclusive content you must have deep pockets so most companies all started buying content from content companies. "one walk before they can run my son" :winkwink:

I think it's a good idea to have a combination of exclusive and bulk non-exclusive to fill out the member's area. That along with a great tour could do quite nicely for you

you should be buying exclusive content up to a year before you actually open the site...keep it an avs until you have plenty of content... then makle the simple switch to paysite. :2 cents:

Of course. Check most Maximum Cash, TCG2, TopBucks, Silvercash, PornDollars and so on, most of their sites are built with non exclusive content. In fact I know quite a bunch of sites built around plugins, which seems stupid, but if you think about it they always look updated.
We mix both, but 50-60% of our content is non exclusive, 20% must be plugins and the remaining content is exclusive but we go for good yet cheap. Since we don't care if a model getting a cumshot in her eye can play Shakespeare, we just get most of our content from South America. It's great for branding and when surfers see some exclusive stuff they tend to think most of it is exclusive. After all, nobody likes to think they've been screwed, but they had made the best possible choice. Consumer Psychology 101 :winkwink:

Of course it can. Check our stuff out.

i think you can do it without full exclusive content site.. :winkwink:

WWC-Moe B. 05-31-2004 10:07 PM

I think exclusive is good, however you need lots of money to be able to have a sucessful website... My advice is get some semi-exclusive and get license to content that's not over sold... Work with someone that can provide you with content thats fresh...

Good Luck!
