I wonder if some of you made it past the 2nd grade.

Sure, everybody makes a typo, but I'm talking about the people that constantly make spelling errors.

This is the internet, your main way of communicating with surfers is thru text. How can you do that with all the spelling errors that you make?

Where have you been? The teachers union stated long ago that proper spelling and grammer were not important any longer.

I was sabataged early on in school. They tought us the three R's well it is kind of fucked up only one starts with an R.

That is exactly why I spend $8900 a year for my 5 year old to go to private school.

well i don't proof read. also, i usually type quickly and shit happens. plus there's no spell check to corrent half my errors on the fly.

The internet has spawned a new language based on short cuts and really cool looking mispellings. An example would be Pheer rather than Fear or wyld instead of wild..you get the picture. Oh, the internet has also opened its doors to people of little education as well as really lousy typers.

I am dutch so for a non native english speaker I think I do rather well.

It's true what you say about the english on sites, people should hire someone to do that for them if they can't handle the english language that well.

I dropped out of high school in the 10th grade, so I'm no scholar. But one would think that with the abundance of kids on here either still in school or just out of school, the spelling would be better.

sorrie, i lived in the californeia. we dun spent all are times on learned black history and mexican words.

Its not even a week's income. Why would I send my kid to public school? Nevada's public school system ranks 49th in the USA.

I've known several people online from non-english speaking countries, and thier spelling and grammer was as good as most english teachers. Its weird how that happens.

People's spelling makes me crazy too. I have just learned to laugh it off and move on. The whole you're/your thing makes me want to kill. There is absolutely no excuse for an adult to be making such stupid mistakes.

I am a spelling snob too. Shitty spelling just shows complete carelessness -- why would anyone want to do business with someone in a web venture when that person cannot present themselves properly in the same medium (online)?

I'm trying not to be so judgemental about it though since my boyfriend commits typo after typo and I know it's not because he's stupid or careless or thoughtless. Maybe perfection is just too time consuming with all of the posting and blogging and writing we do. Then again, since we do so much of it, shouldn't practice make perfect? Hmmm. . .
