I got my merchant account last friday ! :)

I will finally drop CCBill.. these fuking scrubbers.
I was sick of seing 40-65% of my sales refused.

Does anybody know a script that can target country/region upon IP addresses ? I will use this as an anti-fraud system.

Who did you get your merchant account with

I have been 1 year with Verotel.
I got twice the sales I have now with CCBill and I got maximum 2-3 chargebacks in my entire year.

But I don't think Verotel will last ...That is why I decided to use my own merchant account.

yup with the anti fraud system you are setting up you will have this merchant account for about 6 months

maybe for something like 3 months

how can you compare? Is it even during the same time period? And if so.. its not the # of sales you should check but the conversion ratio....

or you can compare the % of sales refused ....

You are right: I am probably very stupid and I don't know how to compare. I have had steady numbers for 4 years but it probably doesn't mean anything right ? I'll drop the comparaisons: I am definately too stupid.

Note that he is ready to bash ccbill before he even knows of there is a script available that can do what he THINKS will work for fraud scrubbing, which is the theory of stopping fraud based on country location.

Weird that your scrub rate is 40 to 65%. I'm with CCBill and my declines are consistently about 9%, and about a third of them are declined rebills for such unavoidable and obvious reasons as expiry date passing or the cardholder address changing (they moved). In otherwords scrubbing is totally a non-issue for me with CCBill.

The message is that webmasters get a merchant account then:
Fail to plan for fraud control
Fail to plan for affiliates
Fail to plan for charebacks
Fail to plan for customer service
Fail to pay affiliates or shave

If you have all of these things in check, then go for it!

40-65% refused is way outside the norm
You should look at your traffic quality, perhaps it is the only problem. CCbill won't process for a number of countries.

We use a system that calls user's phone # and they will have to enter a "confirmation code" before the credit card is actually charged, it does a great job

I have been using my merchant account for subscriptions since 1998 or 1999, cant remember which ...no problems...take that for what its worth :) :2 cents:

2 chargebacks = 800 sales = 70 monthly = 2 daily
3 chargebacks = 1200 sales = 100 monthly = 3 daily
So you did 2-3 sales at verotel and if that was twice the sales compared to ccbill, you did 1-2 sales per day with ccbill. Do you need a merchant for that?
CCbill real scrubbing is around 10%(the people who really dont come through), but you need more than 1-2 daily sales to achieve that.
