A Must Read: I think designers who outsource should have a disclaimer about that...
 

I recently ordered a very small and simple order (2 gallery templates) with one of the industy's leading design companies...

Gave him (the guy who's ICQ is on the website) full details of what I needed...

He told me he needed to be paid first, I paid him...
That was about Tuesday/Wednesday

It's now early Monday morning..
and I have yet to even see any of the work
I'm not even mad or frustrated that it isn't completed yet..

but more so about the fact that I haven't even seen ANYTHING, so I don't know if it's going to be what I asked for...

Not even a rough draft of some sort

I ask him whats with the delays on such a small order

He tells me that the guy he outsources his gallery template work to is having computer problems....

And that he'll give the work to "another guy"

WTF?

I thought you were the designer...

From now on...
I'm only choosing to work with THE ACTUAL DESIGNERS...
for this type of reason....

It's such a VERY SMALL ORDER..
yet it still hasn't even been worked on so that I can see some sort of a preview

I think designers companies should say upfront...
"We outsource work" for certain services.....

and let customers know that they will be dealing with design middle men in certain situations...

just a little frustrated about this...
hopefully I'll get some form of contact with my designer or his "guy" very soon...

Yah, design firms outsourcing design work always creates drama. There was a guy on here a while back that got busted for that. Cut out the middle man and save a few bucks.

I chose this place for the job because of the great portfolio on the site...

but who the hell knows how my project will turn out...

regarding situation in this thread what is the difference if you hired sole designer and he said the same thing "i'm having computer problems", there is no difference you can get fucked by outsorce, middle man or in direct.

noone here asked what did that company promised in terms of timeframe, because doesn't matter what you think how much certain task should take to get accomplished, its what your agreement with that company says, when they will deliver it and then how you're being comfotrable with their delivery time in the first place.
so since you're complaing about simple task not being done in about 1 week, if you dont mind me asking when did they promise to deliver these templates to you?

same goes about content providers, im just figuring out that someone from GFY I hiried is not shooting but rather looking for someone else to shoot, all problems
