No not exactly - what i meant was that - Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks liked SPR soo much that they decided to make a mini series about WWII.

So its KINDA a SPR movie - just very much longer and with more history :D

its kickass

I had the privilege of jumping into Sainte Mere-Englise for the 50th aniversary of D-Day. These old guys who actually made the jump 50 years prior, D-Day -1, were incredible. They would tell us how great they thought we were while the whole time I'm looking at their jump wings with 5 mustard stains (mustard stains are actually gold stars on the wings. Each signifies one combat jump) and all I could think of was how these guys were the shit, the night before D-Day jumping in to cut off the German supply lines. That was sacrifice, honor and selflessness. Anyhow from the stories these old Vets would tell us after the ceremony over beer after beer, I think Band of Brothers is probably one of the best depictions of what those guys went through.

Ya damn right - and the main reason why band of brothers is a good description is that they had 100's of old veterans as consultans for the series. This is no glorified hollywood hero stuff - if you havent seen it - do it

I have to hit up Best Buy later this week to pick something up. I might pick up Band of Brothers as well. I've been thinking about it for a long time, I love war movies/shows, this thread might have given me the last push I needed.
