Adware on my harddrive...other that format c: how to get rid of it? Where can I get reliable software to get that crap out??

Did you try Adaware http://www.lavasoft.de and SpyBot http://security.kolla.de both mentioned numerous times in this thread? If you have something on your laptop that between those 2 programs wasn't removed I'd sure like to know what it is!

And note: Spyware removal programs are like anti-virus programs. You have to update their reference files occasionally to keep up with new spyware programs or they are not going to remove them. Both AdAware and SpyBot have update buttons that easily takes care of it.

HiJackThis gets rid of what the others don't find. I use it after running AdAware and CwsShredder.

I generally run SpyBot as a followup to Adaware and I can only remember one time it found something after Adaware was run. If someone was only going to run one program I'd definitely recommend Adaware.

And yep, you're still flying without a net if you don't update those windows critical files... almost all of them are closing exploits.

I'm so fucking sick of that adware

1st : Install javacool spyware killer . Update it and block everything (it blocks like 2000 different spywares)

2nd : Install spybot search and destroy 1.3, update and run the search . While you run the search, go to immunise, make the browser block pages of spyware websites and immunise your computer agaisn't a bunch of them ...

Searcn and fix problems.

3rd : If the problem is still unsolved, get ad aware .

A registery program like registery mechanic can always help out a lil

Yah... and make sure that in order to install the P2P chat you gotta agree to install 14 dialers, GAIN, and every browser hack you can find... You know, kinda like KAZAA!!! LOLOLOL

Pest Patrol works great and finds stuff most other programs don't!
