Why not both at the same time? Is it possible to archive the database and put it on a different server.

The other server would be used only for search results. You could not post replies in old threads but at least the search would be available.

Make that server available for everyone but disable the ability to post and reply.

And that would solve the script exploits and the main GFY server would not be affected by it

After 3 months ore more would be archived and put on something like http://www.gfysearch.com
