You have opportunities to learn from, do business deals and make friends with so many bright, successful and wealthy guys here. There are a lot of millionaires and multi-millionaires that come on here mostly for fun, but also willing to provide lots of great info, marketing techniques, ideas and years of experience you can use to build your business.

Yet you spew nothing but posts filled with bashing, hate, idiotic statements, childlike bullshit, and clearly envy and jealousy.

Grow the fuck up and start acting like businessmen instead of punks.

If you show some common respect for the people here that have made it already, they'll be happy to share their knowledge and insight to help you up the ladder too.

Very good points, KRL. However, some of the apparent bashing/'drama' you see here are sometimes underhanded marketing :)

I think it's because a lot of people on here aren't involved in this business full-time and treat it as a hobby that makes a little extra money. It's a shame but comes with any industry if you ask me.

I couldnt agree more, however I think sleazy also made himself a target, although jokingly with his "why im better than you" thread. The low self esteem of some around here couldnt handle it and picked him as there target. Not saying it was sleazy's fault, but anytime you brag about how wonderful you are publicly, especially here, its just asking for trouble...

Sadly, the ones that are doing the things you mention, have very little potential to ever succeed in anything. They post a gallery and suddenly they are blingin adult webmasters. And now that school is out, its just going to get worse around here.

Good post! I agree that a lot of people here really don't have a fucking clue. I personally feel that if you bash someone, although maybe fun at the time, will come back to haunt you at the time that you could really need some help. Karma is a bitch!

As far as the comment on the people that only make a few bucks as a hobby, well I kinda agree. But, looking at myself: I've got a job I like, and of course, given the chance I would do adult fulltime. So right now I'm just saving. Every signup, every penny I make of this, I don't spend a thing of it, besides on some content now and then. I'll wait untill I have plenty of cash, and them I'll start fulltime with a BANG!
The times of getting in with nothing and getting rich in a week are over. You gotta thing of this as a business. That means: investment, a businessplan, and a proffessional way of communicating with your network.

Anyway, just my :2 cents: (sorry for the spelling)

Just a thought, but perhaps having access to the board cost a small monthly fee would eliminate 90% of the problem.

I think closing new signups would be unfair, but perhaps only charging for those who signed up after _x_ date would be a nice idea.

I try as much as possible to stay out of the drama on here. If a friend is being attacked I will jump in however.
Creative and the other idiots can start as many useless threads as they want. I'll still be out there trying to make the money they are ignoring.

Any chance of splitting the GFY board into more forums, a 'lounge' for general banter etc would free up the board for discussing biz issues..

I think there is a time for work and a time for play. A lot of people just come here to play. I personally do both, but I couldn't agree more with your statement. There are a few people that I reach out to, but off the board (ICQ) that are almost always ready and willing to help. It's all a matter of respect.

What you say is true, but sometimes the help factor here is quite low...at least on the board. Perhaps a personal dialogue in ICQ is better for getting infos and help in the biz!

I would say that the majority of the people who KTL is talking about are not really in business. I employed a guy to design and post TGPs for two months, the guy never stopped working. He definitely did not have time to post on message boards.

Look at the post count of these guys. WTF do they do to earn money?

It seems that the majority of the bashing that goes on happens between people who have similar business interests. Designers bashing designers comes to mind first. People don't seem to realize that when you bash someone you're not making the bashee look bad...you're making yourself look bad. Simple immaturity.

And for those who don't know, KRL is one of the big dogs...if he speaks, listen. You might learn something. And don't be jealous of Marc De...learn what you can from him...he's a brilliant business man.

I spend about 95% of my time here reading, learning. I only post when I feel like having a little fun. As with anything in life, have your ears open in the appropriate relation to your mouth...at least 2:1. Otherwise you're just not learning a damn thing.

I've got staff running around me working, so I can do the marketing and managing. In three years I'm stillnot at 10K, some of these bozzos hit that in under a year.
