Not at all knowledgeable about boats, but seems like a nice boat for the money.

Here in Northern Michigan that would be a bit too much money for that kind of boat at that age. I personally wouldn't want a Bayliner of that vintage. It has had a lot of work done to it though so it may be in really good shape. Have fun with it if you get it.

What I know most about boats... is that they are actually just a big hole in the water that you try to fill with money...:1orglaugh

stated the top half was rebuilt which means shit, ask them if that means valve springs, valve seals, any head work done? The main concern on a boat of that age is the rod and main bearings, and the tru hours on both those motors. Thats what I would concern myself with right away.:glugglug

have a survey done on the boat you might actually get the owner to pay or split the cost this will tell you everything that is wrong with the boat remember pick a neutral party to perform this or someone of your choice

and next it is a baylaner
those are the years from then till the late 80s lots of probs ,
i am very sure it has the old drives in it that alone will be a very much pain in the ass
for alitte more cash you can get hella lot nice and better for you , what are you wanting to use it for river , lake deep water ?

just a weeked thing want be to bad , tho i would have her took out of the water and make sure the drives are looked over big time you dont want one of those to give you shit .
if has the small motors stay away that was also the years that they had that fucked motor it was like three in one
any way hit me up i be more then happy to try to help thanks jim

its a bayliner, its a bayliner, and a '77 at that. This will not impress the babes or other boaters, but if you're happy.

ditto on the survey, very important.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like something to avoid. I want a boat for ocean...bay and river. Ocean is the reason I want two engines and a wide beam.

I am not into impressing anyone...I live a modest life...and one that satisfies me.

The two best days in a mans life is when he buys a boat and when he sells it.

I'll never own another boat, biggest pain in the ass there is.
