Terror Alert Level not raised, is it political?
Doesn't it seem like with all the bullshit they went through with the press conferences and saying how serious everything was and releasing photos and all of that kind of bullshit. Don't you think the terror alert level should have been raised? They're raised it for less reason in the past.
Do you think they didn't raise it because King George didn't want it to hurt his economy and prevent him from being elected? What if we're attacked and they haven't raised it, does that matter? |
seems political to me
|
oh yes i think so
|
It's because there's a disagreement between agencies. The FBI and Justice Department think that a warning was justified and the Homeland Security Department disagrees at this time.

For cryin' out loud. If they DID raise it, you'd all be screaming that it's political.
Personally I'm on alert level:purple - time to buy new incense. |

Some members of congress have seen the same information and think the situation is overblown too. I imagine some of us on this board would disagree too if we had access to all the same info so what's the big deal? Plenty enough people on this board think the entire threat was made up by the FBI anyway. |
What do you really change in your life style when they raise it?
How many people would have realistically called in sick to work at the trade center on 9/11 if their morning paper or news program had a high terror alert? Telling us to carry on our normal lives and then throwing alerts in our face that we must "heed" is a contradiction. |

Maybe because they know that there's real no reason to be afraid of and they are just preparing people for the coming election?
|
apparently you're all not getting what i'm saying. i don't give a fuck what color or level the threat bullshit is. but you're missing the fact that the threat level shit has a direct impact on our economy and as it goes up our economy goes down.
so my point was, they have raised the threat level on much less than this info that they released the other day, so did they not raise it this time so they wouldn't hurt the economy because of george bush's election and isn't that a bad thing? |

Yes, but if they issued a red alert everytime they had some possible intelligence come in and then public facillities were to close, they would get slammed for the loss of revenue. If the public school system closed everytime there was an alert, most children wouldn't end up completing enough hours to pass a grade. I agree with public safety departments having this info and calling on more people for that period. They are fucked if they issue warning after warning and nothing happens just as they are fucked if they say nothing to the public and something happens. It's a fuck22. |

Terror alert is a joke. It's just a way for the government to give "information" without really having to give information. Would a terror alert have been raised before planes started striking on 9/11? According to the government that came right out of the blue.
