"There is a fine line between love and hate" Is this true?

I personally do not think so. I mean, how is hating someone like loving someone? I love some people. I loathe some people. They are not alike at all.

GFED 05-27-2004 09:54 PM

Yes... very true... especially in a relationship...

Illicit 05-27-2004 09:55 PM

Yeah its definately true... Its one or the other...

Is that where the saying came from? You grow to hate someone you're married to for a long time?

Pusser 05-27-2004 09:56 PM

the people I hate I don't think I could ever come to love...so I don't get it.

I agree with that.

Passion can turn to hate but not love.

bluedevil 05-27-2004 10:04 PM

not in my mind either...

i could never outwardly hate someone i have ever loved unless they killed someone else i love... two seperate entities

Some people cover up their love with hate esp. when they can't tell that person his/her real feelings. I've seen it happens a lot of times before.

I've only saw that on tv and movies, but never in real life.

Doctor Dre 05-27-2004 10:10 PM

Totally fucking true .

If you would have learned pimp 101 you would have learned that . Pusing somebody to the limit is attaching him to you . Pusing too much is loosing it .

KittyLix 05-27-2004 10:10 PM

yep

EviLGuY 05-27-2004 10:29 PM

They are both strong emotions.. and tend to get mixed up.

Most people use the word HATE too much anyways so its lost some of its real meaning.

I don't hate anyone at the moment.. but I dislike plenty. ;)

Face (o_0) 05-27-2004 10:33 PM

it's one of those weird sayings, imo in most cases it doesn't work

but let's say you have a sister, you hate your sister, but you still love her

*cries*

i don't know what im tlaking about :(

There are 2 people that I hate at this moment. And by saying hate, I mean that if i happened to see them on the street, I would throw all concern about lawsuits or jail out the window, and commence to taking them apart.

There are 3 that I love. People that I would make any sacrifice for. People that have been good to me in my best and worst moments, and have truly earned my respect. My parents do not fall into this category.

There are a few more that I would consider friends, and I enjoy being around them or talking to them. Some I have never met in real life.

As for the rest, I pretty much wouldnt care. They live or die, get rich or go broke, doesnt matter to me. As long as they dont bother me its all good. I'm not going to bother them either.

So I wouldnt consider it a fine line between love and hate. it takes alot to make it into either category with me. So if I dont love or hate you, then you're either a friend, or in most cases you just dont concern me.

So for me, its a great broad grey area between love and hate.

I've always said love and hate are the same emotion 5 minutes apart.

Think of how many people you know who were either married or in a relationship with someone they loved and now are not and hate that person. . . if they really loved them can they now really hate them? I say yes. Sometimes you love someone and then you see thier true self and it's not so good .

What about this one: i LOVE to HATE you

Elli 05-28-2004 12:31 AM

Yep. To do either, you have to care deeply about the person. If you hate them, it's because you care so much that they are able to aggravate you so intensely.

Make sense?

Makes perfect sense. (To me, anyway.)

I read once that the opposite of love isn't hate; it's apathy. Rings true.
