Convert's internal hard drives into USB 2 external hard drives so you can swap in and out without opening your box.

I use something similar, just keep the "shell" off and swap drives.

i'm dumb, what does it do? i can take my hard drive out my machine, put it in there and hook it up to another machine. is that it?

if my OS is on the hard drive is an external hard drive with USB 2 fast enough to run programs?

MattO 05-27-2004 05:54 PM

I'd love to find a USB box that would house like 8 drives. Maybe I'll build one.

They're pretty darn fast, I don't know if all systems can boot off an USB drive though, check your BIOS.

bringer 05-27-2004 05:56 PM

hotswap drives are better

Spunky 05-27-2004 05:59 PM

I take out the magnets out of my fried HD's...If you want a superior strength magnet rip one of those apart.

eroswebmaster 05-27-2004 05:59 PM

EviLGuY 05-27-2004 06:49 PM

You can buy similar ones with the harddrives already inside for cheaper then the kit + a harddrive.. at least you can by me. :)

zzgundamnzz 05-27-2004 06:50 PM

ADS always comes out with those kinds of devices...

I remember back when ADS was just a small company and

all they made were those PC to TV adapters. Well those things

are kinda useless now but were cool back in the day.

steve90 05-27-2004 06:56 PM

those have been around for a while and they are screwing you on the price at that website

bizmak 05-27-2004 06:58 PM

I have something similar for almost a year now

It's a piece of shit. I went through 3 of that companies FireWire version before switching to my current system.

Amp 05-27-2004 07:49 PM

been using 250 gig removeable (hot swappable) Firewire HDs for a long long time.

i can't understand why anyone still opens their box to hook up more HDs.

welcome to 2004.

wyldblyss 05-27-2004 07:50 PM
