Would Pornstar.com Sell for medium/high 6 fig's on Ebay?
 

Has anyone ever had any success selling premium domains on Ebay? Any premium domain folks try prnewswire etc.?

the drm is great - no chargebacks and great consistency. hotelheiress.com at $30 per sale is a nice addition and converting well.

It'd really be hard to figure that value out because if it has a member base then you'd assume that a lot of type-ins are members. I'm not sure how you'd properly calculate fresh type-in traffic.. would be hard to judge.

Georgio- the drm is hot! and traffic is rising and sales are rising as publicity is kicking off. we cut several hundred checks each 2 week period for the drm and hotelheiress is doing 1:33 to 1:200 at $30 each. Feel free to start a new thread for yourself.

Without more info, it is tough to give an estimate, but with less than 1800 daily type-ins I don't see how you can get even to six figures.

Is any traffic getting pushed to the domain?

Does it have links up or are those pure type ins?

I'd imagine it could sell for high 5-fig low 6-fig though to the right buyer, for the domain.

It is like you are saying to mutually exclusive things it has an existing rev stream, and it gets type-ins (from the domain, not existing traffic).

This is a premier domain for a video company or anyone looking to carve a niche in the pornstar segment. Instant credibility for the buyer.

We are focused on the TrustFundGirls and HotelHeiress program and our patents. Pornstar needs a dedicated staff and long term focus to be turned into a revenue beast. there are only few porn companies who could afford that domain. best for you to approach Hustler,VCA and Vivid directly and see if u can make a deal. Other than those three nobody in that biz has the kind of scratch or Internet savvy to buy pornstar.com.

maybe Redlight District as well, they'd be the only gonzo company that could at least consider it.

a domain name is only as good as the project linked to the domain.

i own hundreds of domain names, some are very good, and some are highly niche, and most are undeveloped.

but even my very best short generic domains by themselves do not produce incredible type-ins (maybe a few hundred at most).

and some of my most niche domains do much more biz than the generic domains.

go figure.

the opening up of a myriad of available domain extensions effectively devalued all "com" extensions forever.

Why not check with someone who has the money to actually do a deal.

Someone like KRL for instance.

Yep :) I've seen some good names recently w/o bids like: oil.com, mother.com, etc.. asking 1 million or more. I imagine the selling fees for a 100k sale would be better spent on escrow services than eBay final value fees.
