Do you actually read industry related articles?

Do you skim them? Ignore them altogether? Read them thoroughly?

Are they really worth the time and effort to read these days? Should I find a new line of work? :glugglug

I'm a skimmer.. 90% of the time its rehashing shit I know. :2 cents:

merlin77 05-27-2004 04:23 PM

Yeah, I usually try and read any articles that I can. I find that there are alot of useful tips out there, mind you you have to skim past alot of blabbering to get to it, but it is usually worth it in the end.

clickhappy 05-27-2004 04:25 PM

I ignore them. It's usually a bunch of shit about how to optimize your files and directories and blah blah blah.

Me too.

I write a few about content in the hope it will bring some enlightenment.

Reading some has taught me a lot.

jact 05-27-2004 10:15 PM

Honestly, I'm far too busy to slow down to read an article that might slant my thinking about something new.. Posting is bad enough :glugglug

Mr. Marks 05-27-2004 10:26 PM

It really depends on the topic. Some are really useful and others are just spam.

Mr Pheer 05-27-2004 10:27 PM

I rarely read any of it. Since I do mostly search engine listings and I make my own pages, industry stuff just doesnt concern me. As long as sponsors are buying signups, thats all I care about.

Same thing goes for conventions. I dont go to them because I only do business with 2 or 3 companies, I have their owners or other top contacts on ICQ. I dont trade links, build galleries, none of that stuff. I'm not attracted to content girls or porn stars, and I dont drink or party, so the conventions just dont hold much interest for me.
