This industry has to start getting more responsible.

We have to self police ourself or the FTC and Ashhahahahaha and Visa will do it for us.

So - your saying you've changed your ways Dave? You've decided to start doing the right thing now? Is that what I'm hearing? Cause if that's the case, I'll be glad to apologize to you. But I want to hear it from your own lips that you've changed.

Well??

Well??

Dean we follow the Can Spam 2003 act law to its fullest.

We have never been the spam program you suggested.

However the case the new email policy from Platinum Bucks is STRICTLY enforced without question.

Each webmaster who has mailed us in the past has had to agree to the new terms with a signature. Many have stopped sending us traffic.

We are a responsible company, looking to long term growth in this great industry.

Well - I hope you enforce this "new" policy better then you enforced your "old" policy. As for now, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and give you two thumbs up for turning over a new leaf :thumbsup :thumbsup .

Good luck with the new program!

I hope the entire industry cleans up, adult spam has actually gone from 23% of total spam down to 5% since last June.

Pharma sites are #1 and Finance #2 spam now.

Thanks Dean, :thumbsup

A company does something responsible know one is interested.

A company does something not so responsible, they are hung out and left for dead.

sextoyking 05-27-2004 01:26 PM

Dave,

Good news on the policy!

I think more companies will def. follow your lead.

Peace

Todd

With all due respect Dave - you have built a reputation over the years of sleeping with spammers. I don't think you'll be able to change that with one post. But, I think your heading in the right direction and showing an example of how a sponsor program is supposed to be managed. Hopefully, other programs will see the light and follow your example.

In short - give it some time....you'll be fine :thumbsup

PS: Are you finally admitting that you were "not so responsible" in the past http://board.gofuckyourself.com/imag...1bluewinky.gif

diesel 05-27-2004 01:39 PM

But why it became so strict?.. I think because of someone that overused it ..
Many legal restrictions we get now just because someone was abusing them ..

:2 cents:

Good for you Dave! I wish more sponsors would provide these types of Ads.

I have a question for you though, why do you call them CAN-SPAM Compliant? It's my understanding (through attorney consultation) that this law DOES NOT require you to censor the images in the email. It simply requires you to put a "Brown paper wrapper" bumper on the email so no user can see explicit images when they open an email. You need to require action for the user to see the images.

It's obviously better safe than sorry, I have moved to no pink/no cock ads in my mailers as a precaution.

I'm just curious if your attorney read this different than mine did.

Props either way!

Interesting.

I've consistently received more spam promoting your sites than any other adult program - and if one thing's certain it's that reporting them to your program does nothing. Gave up bothering with that about a year ago.

I am be curious to see if the endless rounds of "re: Your Order" emails and the like actually stop. Call me cynical but given the point of this post is promoting new mailer ads... I'm not optimistic. I'd be thrilled to be mistaken however.

Best of luck and hope things change.

Platinum Bucks Loves Spammers. Legal Or Not. End Of Story.

Dave, two things:

One, is it just me or did you guys start poping up a toolbar install within all you paysite popups? When did this start??

And second, you guys are obviously very aggressive on your popups. I "think" i counted like 8 or 9 of them. So i have no choice but to use the no-popup option. I don't mind 1 - 3 pop ups going to your other sites because i always end up picking up extra sales that way off the exit traffic... (with other affiliate programs.)

But between the two popup choices that i do have, (no-popups vs popups), i have use the no-popup option because 9 or 10 popups WITH a toolbar install is seriously just overkill.

So now the problem is i'm actually losing money with you guys cause i'm missing out on popup sales to your other sites.

My question is, do you have middle option? Something between the two that's not so aggressive? Where a webmaster can choose a 3 popups option or something?

I haven't been in the admin for a while now, so i might be ahead of myself here. If you haven't added something like this, do you ever plan to?
