Can I 'fix' a corrupt rar archive?
I have this 1.4 gig rar file, but when unpacking it says it is corrupt and the contents only show maybe 150mb worth of files in there.
Any chance of me fixing it? Took ages to get at 25kb/s :winkwink: |
i used to get those when i downloaded warez years ago...never figured out how to fix em...

don't know..
I use 2 fix zip files in the dos days. Havn't look into rar |
yeah you can, there is a rar repair program but you need the .par file that comes with some .rar's. that file holds the info about the compressed program and how many bytes it should be. look for a program called smartpar

winrar has a build in repair feature, it can salvage some of the files inside... but if it's all one big file inside then the odds aren't looking good.
