Any Masons post here?

A buddy of mine who's 25 years old just joined up. He said the Masons are dying off because of a lack of interest of the last couple generations. He joined up because his grandpa was in the organization for like 40 years and he felt if it was that important to his grandpa, he wanted to keep the tradition alive.

My brother is a third degree Mason, he is very active in the lodge

AaronM 05-27-2004 12:52 PM

FACT

The Mason's are dying off because they do not properly support their youth groups.

How does one go about joining anyway?

It's easy enough. You just find a Mason and talk to him about it and tell him you're interested.

You have to be approved (which is a simple process) and you need to be able to pay the annual dues (which aren't incredibly high).

The old fuckers also do not support their renters either .

I had a mason lodge for my landlord the last 3 years I had my book/comic store in Sacto. They would also park infront of my store when I was in business.

Sly_RJ 05-27-2004 02:52 PM

What exactly is a Mason? And why should I join?

stephanie m. 05-27-2004 03:04 PM

I made out with a Mason once.

My family were Masons for centuries but the interest died off with my grandfather.

69pornlinks 05-27-2004 03:35 PM

to fully get the 33rd degree you must spit on the cross

This information not for open board!

tonkagunner 05-27-2004 03:45 PM

EviLGuY 05-27-2004 03:49 PM

I know a guy that was trying to get me to join. He swore he got off of an impaired charge one time by flashing his mason ring to the cop that pulled him over. He was a little fucked in the head.

It all sounds like a bunch of crap to me. For some reason whenever I think of the Masons I think of the StoneCutters from the Simpsons.

They don't/can't "recruit" people -- you are supposed to have to ask about it. What would the fun be if they didn't have secrets?

I'm an Eastern Star member but haven't done anything past initiation. My dad and grandpa were both active masons.

AaronM -- were you in Demolay or something? You kind of look familiar to me . . . like maybe I saw you at conclave years ago??

Rictor 05-27-2004 08:27 PM

Benefits are you get to help people.

If they have kushy retirement homes.

MrIzzz 05-27-2004 08:27 PM

just last month an old guy shot another mason during one of their initiation rituals out here on long island. the guy didnt realize he had a loaded gun.

why would grown men play with guns indoors?

FACT I'm a Job's Daughter and the Masons are paying for me to go through school. Maybe it's different elsewhere, but we had a lot of Mason support in my area for Job's Daughters and Demolay.
