1 week spam death results
day 1 of this new spam killer, I was getting 2000+ spams a day.
1 week later, that has been cut to 210. the future is looking bright. There is light at the end of the spam tunnel. (hopefully it's not a fucking train coming) |

Yes but spam killers block a lot of legitimate emails for adult webmasters

it filters in a few different ways. 1st way of course is a built in set of word filters that skim off all the Viagra and mortgage type shit..... 2nd is by dumping mail into the right folders, and then allowing you to decide what's spam and what's not. for instance.... say 10 emails come in. Three of them are on my blacklist. They get dumped into the Deleted folder immediately, and marks them as "read" so no icon ever shows up to bother me. 3 are deemed "Junk mail" by the program and are dumped into a Junk folder, again with no icon flashing to bother you, and you can go through it later if you want and blacklist senders or domains, or whitelist senders or domains. 2 are possible spam, but the program isn't sure, so it dumps them into the Quarantined folder. Similar to the Junk folder. The rest are legit and stay in your Inbox, and the flashing mail icon shows up for those to tell you ya got mail. Now.... in any of these folders (no need to even look in the Deleted box except to see how much spam you're getting every day), once you blacklist someone, it moves it to the Deleted box (and forever will from that point on) and also sends it to the collective db so it's blacklisted for all their other users as well. If you get a legit mail that gets dumped into Quarantine or something, as soon as you whitelist it, it's moved back to the Inbox, and will be seen as legit mail from then on. so, in a nutshell, you're not bothered by the junk and the crap.... and only get notification when there is legit mail. BUT, you're also able to go in at your convenience, say at the end of the day, and make sure someone important to you didn't get dumped by mistake. yes, it takes a little effort on your part at first. But the sheer reduction in crap coming into my box has been more than worth it. and all of these actions..... blacklisting (which automatically moves the crap to the Deleted folder), whitelisting, all of it..... are one-click operations. You can go through a stack of spam blacklisting away, in about 1 minute. Options include: Banned Phrases Banned Domains Banned Senders Allowed Senders Allowed Domains Allowed Phrases Word Filters and Reports of everything going on. it's the fuggin' bomb baby. |
