i just drink when I get sad to take my mind off things for a bit and just relax.

I had me a 7 day drinking binge not too long ago, sucks.

there's other reasons to drink other than sadness? :eek7

to get fucked up and have a fun/crazy time...

It's been awhile since I've drank out of saddness, but I know what you mean. I've drank alot in the past year to try and drown the sorrow. But I've gotten over it! :(

I think everyone does during those exceptionally bleek days like when a loved one passes on.

sometimes its nice to drown your blues....

I combine my sadness induced drinking and playing the blues on my old Guild acoustic or strat.

I never drink when i'm upset. Quickest road to becoming an alcoholic in my opinion. I drink socially with my mates. That's about it.

But I also drink when Im happy :)

I only drink once a year...every year on november 22nd i rent me a hotel room get a couple of bottles of Jim Beam Rye and get fucked up in memory of a very close friend who died on that day. I refused to go to the funeral so i drank instead and have done so every year for the past 8 years.

When I did drink I was always happy before, during and after. I don't think using drugs as a crutch is a good idea. ;)
