If you own a home, did you get a fixed rate or adjustable rate mortage?

I'm curious what the % breakdown of fixed Vs. ARM mortage holders are out there.

Is there anywhere online where those numbers are available?

ARM with a bad pre pay unfortunately. Its up in 5 months I am nort sure If I will do another ARM or a fixed

I don't need a mortgage, I just want to know the # of people in the US who have Fixed rate mortages Vs. the number of people who have ARM's.

fixed 30 yrs at 5.625

neither paid off the house last year in full after 4 years :thumbsup

fixed 30 year at 6.5... being recently self employed when I first bought my house, I couldn't prove enough income :) Hiding it from the tax man LOL

Unless you plan on living in your house for the rest of your life an ARM is the way to go. I got a 5 year ARM at 3.8% saving me over $700 a month compared to a 6% 30 year fixed. That is almost $50,000 saved in interest over a 5 year period.

depends on how long your planning on living in your current residence
