I bought a new laptop today, with a fresh install of Windows XP
and I made the mistake of plugging in the cable and surfing the net without first running Windows update. I didn't even think about it... about 2 minutes later, I opened a new window to find my homepage had been changed to aifind dot com. With that, I went immediately to download adaware and spybot.
Adaware found 16 problems, followed by Spybot which found another 4. Problems included coolwebsearch, alexa, dso exploits, webdialer, dialerxxx, and other shit it called "malware". I fixed all problems then ran Windows Update. Scanned again... all gone. I ran Registry Mechanic, which fixed some registry problems caused by this shit.
2 minutes on the Internet. 2 fucking minutes. Seriously, some of you guys are fucking pathetic. Enjoy your 15 pennies. How are you any better than lowly swoit whores? And then you wonder why people won't buy shit from you. And mainstream sites are just as bad.
Two hours and 100MB of Microsoft patches later, custom settings installed, spyware immunization, and real time scanning in place, and I'm tight.
I can only imagine what a computer novice - someone eager to get the new family PC set up, have cybersex with a bot and jerk off on to some beasty for the first time - must go through.
