Would US Al Quida Terrorist Attack Help or Hurt Bush

The alerts are coming out.

Skeptics say it is a smokescreen to divert attention from all the Iraq fuck-ups.

But assume Asshahahahaha is correct, and a terrorist attack on American soil is immenent.

Let us say it is significant hit, such as the Hoover Dam.

Do you think this would help Bush's re-election chances, or hurt them.

(Please defer the possibly of marshall law and cancelling the elections to another thread).

It would most probably help Bush.
Opposite effect than in Spain.

That should be "Would" in the poll question, but I can't figure out how to edit it.

hurt big time... as it would hurt anybody in office if they failed to prevent another terrorist attack.

Totally depends on what happens. Kerry and Bush have relatively the same ideas on Iraq's future.

I'd say things can't get much worse for Bush though, so it would likely help him.

I think people would think "Its better the devil you know" if there was a crisis around the election.....

So I think it woud help him, lets just hope Al Qaeda aggree

bizmak 05-26-2004 03:38 PM

i think they will hurt him..

Goose 05-26-2004 03:38 PM

it would defineltely help him...have you seen what happened with Bush's popularity again when broadcasting the beheading video? it fomented hatred.

Viper2K1 05-26-2004 03:42 PM

it will help him

I think it would help. Spin would be to say 'we need a leader who has dealt with this before.' Therefore people would want to vote Bush to continue the war on terror.

It would and WILL hlep him.

RedMonkey 05-26-2004 04:53 PM

I think it will help Bush, which is what scares me about it. Last summer there was the same speculation, with a false alert. Once he demands certain saftey measures, acts as if he is doing something, the american sheep will actually think he is doing something.

Paul Waters 05-26-2004 05:24 PM

So would the Conspiracy Theory be that the Bush Administration would *allow* the attack to happen?

BUSH IS DOOMED... itll take Osama Bin Ladin showing up in the middle of times square strapped with a 50kt nuclear warhead and GW wooshing in on an f-16 to take him out to save his presidency...

in fact....

I think the attack will help Bush in his political career because he has more chance of showing the people that he is doing something to prevent the attack.
