Don't download the new ICQ v4.0 - lite or pro version
Avoid - it's a complete piece of junk and a pointless update. Tons of banners, advertisements, and shitty useless games and features that nobody except for 12 year old girls will ever use. Everytime they release a new version, it just gets shittier. Besides that, you can't use a standard classic Windows theme, only some stupid ICQ ultramadleetuberh4x0r microscopic pixel fonts & playschool Windows XP-style layout.
I just downloaded an old build from olversion.com - installing it now. edit: oldversion.com |

why dont u all just download and use Gaim ::
download :: Gaim v0.77 Features :: Gaim is a multi-protocol instant messaging client for Linux, BSD, MacOS X, and Windows. It is compatible with AIM (Oscar and TOC protocols), ICQ, MSN Messenger, Yahoo, IRC, Jabber, Gadu-Gadu, and Zephyr networks. Gaim users can log in to multiple accounts on multiple IM networks simultaneously. This means that you can be chatting with friends on AOL Instant Messenger, talking to a friend on Yahoo Messenger, and sitting in an IRC channel all at the same time. Gaim supports many features of the various networks, such as file transfer (coming soon), away messages, typing notification, and MSN window closing notification. It also goes beyond that and provides many unique features. A few popular features are Buddy Pounces, which give the ability to notify you, send a message, play a sound, or run a program when a specific buddy goes away, signs online, or returns from idle; and plugins, consisting of text replacement, a buddy ticker, extended message notification, iconify on away, and more. Gaim runs on a number of platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Qtopia (Sharp Zaurus and iPaq). Gaim integrates well with GNOME 2 and KDE 3.1's system tray, as well as Windows's own system tray. This allows you to work with gaim without requiring the buddy list window to be up at all times. Gaim is under constant development, and releases are usually frequent. The latest news regarding Gaim can be found on the news page. |

well said!
they should release a lite version with a normal skin, the full version's default history settings and the ability to dock it to a side of the screen. |
This is why I use trillian.
