Newbie , ftp/upload/everything question
Hi all , i have done my html using 1st page 2000, and i have managed to log onto my ftp directory using IE.
How do i get my file from 1st page 2000 into my ftp directory ?, i have tried copying and pasting it but it still shows my hosting companies details under the name b-one-default.html when i type in my domain, i have named my html page index.html. Am i doing something really wrong ? , i asked my hosting people b-one.net and all they said was "You have to upload your own index file!" very helpful. anyone help me ? |

You got to use a FTP client, like WS_FTP or Fetch or some other...
|
Youn need to use an FTP client, no IE. Try ftp expert, not the best, but it works. Then copy your index.html from your hard drive to the root of the directory that opens when you log on your account by ftp. And quit 1st page 2000, dreamweaver is the most used I think.

You have to upload a index.html to see something.

google.com - search for HTML tutorials.

I am speechless...

eh cut the fella some slack, he DID warn us he's a newb. Get Dreamweaver. 1st page 2000? (Is that foreign? lol) Do your design AND upload from within DW. No damn WS_FTP.log files splattered all over your comp. :2 cents:

What I find strange is that you have made 71 posts here on gfy before even uploading one page to the web. What have you been posting about?
Heres an FTP client http://download.com.com/3000-2160-10000625.html You need to upload the index page into your public_html folder or whatever folder your host has asked, then refresh your browser, then you should be able to see it. |
