It won't stop shit, it will just change the code used to pop up windows. Some sponsors use it allready.

Pop Ups wont die
Like it was mentioned before they will figure out new ways to open windows. Be it flash or what not |
it won't stop anything...
|

DHTML ? :: shrugs:: Guess I'll worry about this when I 'have' to..
|
yupp it will and than you will get only popups from micro$hit
|
Since its from M$ I'm sure plenty of holes will eventually be discovered to open up even more annoying pop ups.
If you look at their history the more efforst that are taken to stop them, the more annoying they get. Since regular old fashioned HTML pages just dont cut it anymore, look at the slew of other shit you gotta contend with now. There's always a way around. |
I would not even consider surfing without my pop up blocker. So even if MS does not work, people will continue to download things that do work.
Pop-ups will be history soon. |
we'll see a lot more flash layer ads although it won't be long til there are popular blockers for those as well.
|
Pop ups... I remember those... :2 cents:
|
install google toolbar into your browser, there is option popup blocker. Works good:)
